Small-minded I know, but anything with Driftworks in the title makes me switch off very quickly.
Shame, as it seems to have an insane amount of work I would normally appreciate.
You're missing out. Driftworks is just the name of their business that sells parts and the channel is all about their personal builds which are just their hobby, funded by the business. A great group of guys having fun with cars which are their own and some amazing engineering going on. One of the channels for which a new video I really look forward to and I have no interest in actual drifting.Shame, as it seems to have an insane amount of work I would normally appreciate.
It's the name and the connotation of 'drifting'. Just turns me off, all I can think of are 'In memory of Paul Walker' stickers and the ziptied bumper crowd.
It just does nothing for me, almost as bad as 'stance'. <shudders>
I have no doubt that they are exceptional builders, it looks like an absolute beast. But my neuro-diverse nature means I'm automatically massive disinterested. Shame, but I'm sure we will both survive happily.

Why yes, of course you're right. Watch something that I hate, to make myself like it. What a brilliant idea.
Next up - beatings until morale improves.
Ok, so you don't like the business name, negative connotations and all that.Next up - beatings until morale improves.
Further, you have said you can appreciate the car, but the business name puts you off.
I'm suggesting you watch some videos by Phil, who is the human face of the business, and allow yourself to have an informed opinion, and not one borne of assumptions - which isn't the same thing as me telling you to watch something you hate.
Regardless, I don't actually care what you do, but your post jumped out at me as being particularly nuts.

I need to have a Sunday afternoon watching their YouTube channel. I always follow their cars on Instagram usually, I'll be watching the Murcielago series now if nothing else. Don1 said:

Classy guy. I ignored the first time, now just don't bother, huh?Apologies for any offence, that was entirely unintended.
Out of genuine interest, since you brought it up - does the rest of my post above not make sense to your logic, due to the condition?

Honestly, no it doesn't. It's really strange, no matter what they do, no matter how skilled they are (and I have no doubt they are!), no matter how much I would normally love that Lambo GT for myself (and apparently they have a Nascar engined monster somewhere as well?), I am left utterly cold by the name (and my seemingly hard-wired connotations). Totally ambivalent in that way.
Minds are a strange, strange thing. Ah well, it is what it is. As long as I understand why I'm acting some way, understanding others reactions to that or what they are seeing is good enough for me.
Thanks for that, in context, your position makes a lot more sense now. I just thought you were being obtuse
I kinda get it, actually. I sometimes have to work to get past a negative association of something, and it's not always easy - and that's without my brain doing a "computer says no" on me!

The (re) build series on V1 TEN which is an E46 M3 with an E60 M5 engine in it has been compulsive viewing and I've lost many hours watching that from the start. Still a bit to go on it too. EnjoyDanielSan said:
Phil Morrison/Driftworks Murcielago. Converted to rear wheel drive, with a manual box also. ITB's, full Reiter GT1 bodywork from one of their LM entries. Custom wheels, widened rear 3/4 panels. The amount of work that's gone to make that kit work is insane, whole new suspension arms, hubs etc etc and it's road legal.
Absolutely stunning bit of kit. I was watching the YT video of them collecting it from the bodyshop last night, I don't think it'll be very user friendly given how long it took them to get it up the ramp into the trailer. One thing though, is it my eyes or is the driver's door quite a different colour to the rear quarter?
Watch between 7 and 8 minutes in.
