My Dad did a brilliant "watch this" in a CS years ago on the A3 when it was snowing, we ended up backwards in a small lay by / parking area where the Canadian maples are planted near Liphook.

The funny thing was that when we finally stopped spinning and ended up parked in the lay by car park he said "can you see how I realised it had gone wrong and headed for the open exit to the A3?" He was a seasoned racer but even at age 12 I did a "yeah, right!"

I have a couple of thoughts / questions.

1. Exactly how is this car modified. I'm not being obtuse. I just don't know a lot about old BMWs. It looks fairly standard to me. Maybe lowered?
2. Compared to a lot of the cars on the thread the fit and finish look pretty dire: big, uneven panel gaps. That chrome strip down the side not lining up sets my teeth on edge.

I'm not sure it's modified, but if it is i personally wouldn't say it was done decently.

Hmmm.... normally I would be all over that, but something doesn't gel with the design. Maybe box arches would have been better, to compliment the rest of the styling.

Still would though.

TBH I'm with you there. It's magnificently done but I'm not sold on aesthetics (as a racecar I guess the answer is "so what?")

Nice! V8 or still a 6 pot?

One of my clients had just finished the interior on this yesterday. The 'patina' look won't be to everyone's taste, but still... cool

Don't think so....it's a V8. My cuz bought it on first sight, don't think he gave it much of a test drive as it's so low it bottoms out on even the slightest bump in the road. Can be easily raised as the suspension is adjustable coilovers.

I prefer the rat rod look with mint engine bay and tidy wheels myself.

I'm not really a fan of AM but there's no denying that's a lovely looking thing. It's a shame that Ford used that grill shape on Fiesta, Focus etc though.

Technically, this should probably be in the other thread, there's no way you could call it well finished, and it probably wouldn't pass an MOT smile . But in a very weird way, I like it.
