I think we've had these before on some thread ... IIRC they were used to distribute mail in France.Conceived by Pierre Tissier in response to the requirements of the French newspaper industry's headache of getting news distributed through the country at high speed overnight. The CX had a payload of 1 metric tonne and could travel at speeds well in excess of an HGV, and deliver direct to point. The drivers would report that they'd cruise at 160km/h through the night on the deserted Autoroutes.
The TGV took over news paper delivery eventually but Tissier continued with conversions on the CX, XM and other Citroens.
Transporting the film crew chopper on the Dakar for example.

I have seen similar "connecting boxes" on multi-engined tractor pullers,if I understood correctly is is a set of matching gears that take the power from both sides at the cranks
and deliver it to the middle gear, where the clutch/converter/transmission sits.

They also made a Twin Engine unit (GM 6046) with what looks like the method they used in the truck.

E30 M3 with E46 S54 engine and Bugatti EB110 wheels..
Plates are a bit iffy but a cool build overall I think.
Wheels just look awful, as do the plates, but each to their own. The rest is really well done and the interior is very nice. Oh and that silly sticker on the back window needs to go.E30 M3 with E46 S54 engine and Bugatti EB110 wheels..
