What's wrong with going to an agency and getting some professionals in?

Oh yeah, they'd expect to be paid and wouldn't be fooled into thinking they were 'lucky winners'.

Pah,
+1

Exactly what i was about to say
+2 I have a number of friends, acquaintances and hirees who do this professionally. This is just a typical modern piss-take way of not paying for a service. irritates me personally

Perhaps the PH team could make a guest appearance one race?

We'd look great, honest.

This isn't so much of a meet and greet - they are essentially just standing there to provide some eye candy, so if that's how someone chooses to make a career then ultimately they have to accept that any other reasonably attractive person can take their place at any time!

Why can't Ginetta just pay the going rate for some models?

Smells of exploitation to me, and why are Haymarket sponsoring this?

I can't believe I'm the first to say it but. This thread is useless without pics!

All applicants must post a few pics here for PH approval

There is nothing not to like on the entire page! I knew I should have been a recruitment agent.

I hardly think Ginetta are doing something unusual here. There is a bit quid pro quo since the girls who get the job get something to add into their 'portfolio' when they apply to agencies to become proper models. wink

Nonsense, portfolios aren't made by standing around for hours while amateurs perv on you. Portfolios are made by professional photographers in decent locations or a professional studio. Amateur or wannabe models new to the industry usually go to semi-pro photographers who need models and, in some cases, are willing to pay for them.

This clap trap reminds me of the stunts from the likes of Max Power and their associates to appease demand for girls at chav filled car shows. It still goes on. I'm just saying that a company like Ginetta needs to grow up if they want to play with the big boys.

The reason I know this is because I have around 400 models on my lurker FB page, the few average/chav/rough ones constantly bh about idiots trying to take advantage of them. The talented ones are always paid and go through professional agencies, who in turn only take on good models and work with actual serious clients.

yeah....right!! am glad you added the wink! I wouldn't normally be so grumpy but this is definitely getting more common and a friend has lost two of her main jobs to this exact 'great deal for people trying to get into the industry'

its the same way student travellers have completely ruined professional diving for anyone who wanted to do it as a job and may have spent a lot of money getting properly qualified

I think Ginetta might be aware that this is not the way to get the best, 'most talented' models. Women can apply of their own free will and if they're all mingers then Ginetta probably won't draw a 'winner' and will go an agency (which they probably do anyway to have several girls at an event).

This is hardly exploitation and is not some new development in the world of promotion/fashion....

Using promo girls in the first place is what might be a bit tacky; whether one or two of them at a given event is not being paid is tangential.

That photo was taken at the Autosport show, and really doesn't do full justice to those two ladies.

I have to admit I didn't notice if they had Yorkshire accents. Too busy lookin' wink
