That's very good going. How someone didn't get bored of that I don't know.

Judging by that advert, he's had to deal with a few tyre-kickers smile .

“Please don’t ask me what’s been replaced and when - I’m a trader and have no idea” would be more truthful mind.

FFS, 60k miles a year for 10 years.
There's more to life than that. Just no... couldn't do it no matter how much they paid me.

Price doesn't really seem that realistic. £1k maybe, but not £1750. Basing it on having seen various examples of that age with normal mileage for £2k or less

Doesn’t the 2.0 in an A6 feel a bit underpowered? I have got a 2.0 tdi in my A3 it’s ok in that but a lot smaller/ lighter car. I like the A6 but I would be looking for a 3.0

It's not MASSIVELY different in size to a Skoda Superb. The 2.0tdi seems to be adequate in those.

That's less than one of my Taxis. I have a 68 plate 2.0tdci Galaxy about to clock 100k in less than 14 months. But it'll never get to 600k, not in my business. Maintenance quickly becomes unviable after 300k. I suspect this Audi was a one man band, and only he drove it/knew its foibles and could work around them.

Don’t these A6s like the oil as well?

How much would he have spent topping it up?

Also only did 77k miles before the first MOT.
Either bought like that or my bet is it’s been clocked before the first MOT. Maybe another 100k miles on it.

Or it was bought ex lease and he's just kept it. Some taxi blokes just do that. They get emotionally involved with their cars. To me it's just a means to earn a living.

My dad used to do the same. Buy at 3-5 year old and just run them into the ground.

I still think who ever had it first probably clocked it.

96k miles last year eek

Looks like it has an aftermarket FMIC also, weirdly.

Even cooler to use it in such a way. Seller looks to be chancing it properly then.

How did he find it to own over so many miles? Generally pain free?
Generally yes, not really much worse than any other 5 series. Few little bits like the supercharger has to come off to change the spark plugs. Also, the supercharger had to be replaced under warranty in first few years and more recently had to have the clutch of the supercharger replaced.

Aside from the added rarity, fuel is one of the reasons he chose it over an M5. When we first had it the mpg was set to US gallons so was quite pleased to find after a few months it was doing more like 24 mpg than 20 mpg.

That’s a point as well. My a3 (guessing its the same 2.0 engine) used to use quite a bit of oil when I first had it on 68k it’s just under 140k now and uses less oil.

It is also a lot more economical. Sorry for going off topic.

If we weren’t on lockdown I’d probably buy that A6 just to out-high-mileage Car Throttle laugh

Probably is a bit salty price wise mind.

The rear light plastic seems to go 'cloudy' over time. Mine have done the same after 200k so it's not surprising after 600k. Nothing a polish/restore kit wont sort out though.
