RE: PH Blog: Clio is the unsung hero

O/T, I know but if I'm going berate Clios and their owners' views, stating a car which, IMO, is a far better & cheaper proposition then I really should lead by example.
So I did.
Now, I guess I should keep the E60 530i as my daily driver or perhaps I could get something just to nip to work and to the shops in. Any ideas? ;-)

I could afford to buy one, but if something went wrong I'd be up st creek! As well as tyres, servicing, insurance etc
To answer your question: Civic Type-R
Yes, they're not expensive, which was my point right from the beginning; just over half the price of a new, poverty-spec, Fiesta for this.I could afford to buy one, but if something went wrong I'd be up st creek! As well as tyres, servicing, insurance etc

Yes, tyres & maintanance won't be cheap BUT, it has 70k miles and, IMO, interest in these will increase. I may be wrong but have you tried to get a low-ish mileage Quattro?
It won't be my daily driver.

Yep, they're a bloody fotune. IMO, all low-mileage performance cars increase in value as time passes, even, dare I say it, low mileage Mk1 XR2s, RS Turbos and the like which, not that long ago, were seen as just throw-away tat are increasing in interest.
I don't for 1 minute expect this to rocket in value, it just won't drop like a new Fiesta would. Actually, it can't, it didn't cost that much!
