Liking the Manta more and more as it (or is it me?) ages. This looks like a tasty number, perhaps a bit pricey until you compare it to what an equivalent FoMoCo product would set you back.

Also, can't believe we've had 5 pages of box-arch celebration without one of these beauties.

Does not spec what location the back axle has. Would be interesting with turbo power and the panhard rod/trailing arms of the standard GTE/i200.

GTE was more composed than the Mk2 RS though, particularly over bumps. Went from a string of rwd Escorts to a GTE and it was better behaved over cambers, ridges than my Escorts or my friends' Mk2 RS'
They were nice handling but a bit nose heavy so tended to understeer a smidge more than Escorts

Totally agree having owned both. The original RS Escort with its cart sprung rear axle and near 45' angle rear dampers was never as sophisticated as a Manta with a rear end suspended via coil springs, vertical dampers, a panhard rod and torque tube. Much more composed over bumpy roads.
