Yes, but we didn't get the VXR. Seeing as Saturn is defunct, I doubt we'll get the new one. It is too sporty to fit in with Buick, and doesn't fit in with Chevy's design language. Obviously it wouldn't fit in at Cadillac or GMC, either, so I'm not going to get my hopes up.
I saw on GM Inside News the guys screaming for Buick to get it?
The Australians are getting a Holden version I believe
That would be nice, but GM doesn't always listen to their customers desires. The Pontiac G8 (Vauxhall VXR8 to you) was a massive success, very popular, and was arguably GM's first "world beater" sports sedan, but they killed Pontiac anyway.

The concept of a RWD, 425bhp, V8 4-door that cost around $30,000 U.S. Dollars was unprecedented and brilliant. The closest competitors were all German, overly complex, with prices nearing six figures, and whose service costs would bankrupt anyone who's not rich.

The G8 GXP was the average Joe's M5, and was exquisite in that role. Also, it's ridiculously easy, and relatively inexpensive, to modify the G8 to embarass most supercars. 4-door street cars that do 10 second quarters; that's McLaren F1 territory!

£27,150 is for the 5 door, it will be about £29,500 for the 3 door.
Haaannngg on. Since when have five-door hatches been cheaper than three-door hatches?
well 2 door BM's are more expensive than 4 doors...
Scirocco's more than Golfs..
good question though....
But a 5 door Golf costs more than a 3 door Golf.

Vauxhall have 621 advanced orders, and all but 11 have the Aero Pack -so oddly a standard VXR becomes more desirable due to exclusivity.Sort of.

From a recent drive of one of these I think they are certainly fast and put the power down well. Seats were nice and the interior was a notch up on the previous Astra VXR.

Was finding it hard to get excited about this though, but if fwd forced induction is your cuppa, you can't go too far wrong.
