Gotcha thanks! It's fair to say that the standard Ci model is equivalent to the Saloon SE then?

Bit firmer and a bit lower, definitely worth mentioning that in your ad.

Someone will be able to put you in the right direction but on the BMW website somewhere you can put your VIN number and it will give you the build sheet for your car.

If you are in possession of this and put all the details down properly then any purchaser is sure to have more confidence.

As I said in my email, it was just a quick one to make sure you weren't missing out on potential purchasers beer

True. Bring back ye olde days! I know that the current line up of Mercedes is equally if not more confusing.
Are those the days were a E30 316 had a 1.8litre engine, and prior to that E21 315 had a1.6 litre engine?

They've been doing it for year before now, it just more prolific now.

Or do people just lie hoping that people come and have a look at it but don't notice?

Surely if you're looking for a 3 series Sport with a straight 6 then you're not going to fall for an SE with a 2.0 litre 4 pot in it?
I've seen someone actually ask if the BMW they had just bought was a 4 or 6 cylinder! he had the bonnet up at the time looking and trying to work it out!

Yes but it was charming German humour back then, and now it's faceless brand marketing. Or something.

I'm still confused that Hyundai I30s aren't 3.0 litre BMWs

Pretty sure most is standard, even under the options.

Not sure they came with the dipping mirrors but that was probably as part of the memory seats.

Still, tidy it up a bit and put it with the advert. Make sure all spelling and grammar looks spot on and really make it appeal to any potential purchaser, and as if you know what you're talking about, have a passion for the car etc.

Thats my advice anyway!

Me for one. I booked my OH's car in for a service this morning and couldn't remember whether it was 306, 307 or 308 diesel such is the level of apathy I have towards the car.
Must have been a 307/308. The 306 at least had a bit of charm
I remember driving my mum's old 307. Seats gave me backache after 45 seconds, it couldn't pull a sailor off your sister, but ISTR the handling was a hoot - for a big mumsy car it was quite chuckable.

Working in insurance it now no longer suprises me when people call looking for quotes for 'my red car' or my 'Ford something' which turns out to be a vauxhall vectra, or think that just giving their name without ever previously talking to the company will result in a quote, engine sizes and fuel type are a mystery never mind what trim level it is, and peoples' valuations are laughable, recent one was a 1998 Corrolla D with lunar miles valued at £6k.

I have even encountered people with perfectly normal vision who didnt know what COLOUR their car is (stated it was red and it turned out to be green!).

Not sure what he used but on the same topic, the 'My Car Check' app on the iPhone (perhaps on other phones too) is brilliant for this sort of thing.

Well the 316, 318, and 320d all have a 2.0 engine, as do the 123d and the 525d. Its probably very economical to produce a range of cars where the majority of motors run the same 2.0 or 3.0litre block and then all you need to do is build them up to the desired power level depending on application.
525d is 6 cylinder nerd

And, if I remember correctly, the 4cyl 525d puts out more BHP than the 6cyl.
