Given the choice I'd go for a manual over flappy paddles. But perhaps my views differ from those of people who can actually afford a car in this segment. In fact, I'm almost certain they do.

A potential buyer for this car is unlikely going to be looking at an XJR. Likewise, a potential buyer of an XJR is unlikely to be looking at this car!
Fair point, why would a potential buyer of a brand new Porsche be looking at a 10 year old Jag? Unless the focus was 4 seats, comfort and speed. Then I am still surprised the Jag is as fast. Nothing more. I take it the Turbo is a lot quicker?
