FBMSH, last invoice 4.5k 8k miles ago - available for £5470. Jaysus.
Chaps. This is itching away at me for some reason I cannot quite fathom. Maybe it's the V8, maybe it's the double glazing, maybe its the 'fk you' of driving a planet eating 4x4 and never taking it offroad.

Talk me out of chopping in an E39 530i Touring for it.
Have you ever been in one?

Actually... no hehe

I was just squinting at what I think to be the boot space - is it possible that it's smaller than the 5 series? To my eye it looks like it might be shorter scratchchin

It is shorter and less wide. I bought my 540T off a chap who'd got an X5 4.8 and he wanted to keep the load liner from the '39. Wouldn't fit. Mrs HR/Mini HR will be most diss-pleased.

No its similar to an E39 estate but if it has the sliding out floor this eats up a couple of inches. Add that to the height of the car and its a fare way off the ground. It might be shorter than an e39 but I'm obviously guessing now.

Height is always a good thing.

Think id prefer an XC90 or an RX300 for £5k. A 3.0d might be a good shout though.

Zwolf, I don't know if you've noticed where the selling dealer is - technically Solihull but literally yards from Birmingham.

Eton's yards from Slough, I'd buy cars from one, but not the other. I'd assume a similar corollary as that X5 looks like it's avoided the ministrations of the chickenshoppist Brumistan massive.

Not blick/blick/blick with tintz and rimz, no private reg and in an old man colour. I'd be willing to take the punt it's a good'un if I could.

First use of Savile as a verb? Ground-breaking work we do here.

It does look a good one.

For future reference, is there any part of Eton which is contiguous with, and indistinguishable from, Slough except by postcode?

I want it, Condition and the last service suggest its from the right side of the tracks and is worth keeping that good.

I've never been an X5 fan but that one avoids looking chavtastic and doesn't deserve to suffer such a fate.

They're separated by Datchet.. The civilised end - pronounced Dashay, entirely self-mockingly - rather than the do-as-you-likey end towards Wraysbury.

Slough town centre is SL1, Windsor & Eton are SL4 and Datchet & Langley between them are SL3.

So no, there isn't. The dividing lines are Eton Playing Fields and Upton Court Park and it's quite apparent which side you're on at any point. A simpler distinction is North/South of the M4.

I think I've located this dealer. Here's a google maps link - the 45 degree view shows the stock just as well as the aerial shot: http://goo.gl/maps/A4QOX

Sorry to keep on about location; it's a good advert but the reality is a bloke selling off his driveway.

A £5k XC90 terrifies me in ways an X5 can only dream about. No thanks.

Nope, not by quite a bit.

So? That's the distinction between a trader and a dealer. In these waters, those paying out for trade premises don't have money to prepare cars too and more seems to get skipped.

I'd be happier buying from a trader or private seller, rather than a dealer in many situations. Of course I might well say that, having been a trader before...

From the ad you can click on view dealers website. He only has 6 cars. Maybe its from an auction just like bmthnick1981 suggested?
