I was wondering at what stage LSs gained some form of active suspension as it seems to be a feature of just about all the flagship saloons (except the D2 S8 I think) and I've no stomach any more for the wallet-bashings such systems can deliver. It's a shame they never built a V12 Seven with standard struts and it's more hassle than is economically feasible to remove and install 740i hardware.
I've made my mind up to at least try one properly now, once a few more pressing bills and debts are out of the way.
You have not lived till you have faced the King of Bork, the Dark Prince of ABC courtesy of the fine folk in Stuttgart.I've made my mind up to at least try one properly now, once a few more pressing bills and debts are out of the way.
The air suspension on the LS430's is actually pretty reliable from what I can gather (and I bought one, and wil be getting another)so I would not necessarily dismiss it on those grounds.
I'd take my chances with it over AIRMATIC or the infernal ABC!

I may well have been over egging 430's bork. The Lexus technical forums are bleak wastelands really, so the odd report of such problems stands out more than it should perhaps. Some who have driven both say the 430's ride isn't as smooth as the 400, mind you the self closing doors and Levinson make up for that to my mind.
Has this been discussed yet? I like the look of it, M-badge aside.

I do really like Sports in Slate Green - but I don't think it sits well with the sand beige and wood interior. The Slate Green interior (seats and door inserts only, the rest black and with ally trim) works much better.hornetrider said:

Just tried calling them, rings out with no answer phone. Hopefully they'll call back.
Can you buy that LMB/Caramel M5? I'll willingly sign a contract guaranteeing I'll have it off you next year.Zwolf said:

Quite right, anyone who knows what they're on about will snap up a silver touring with black leather and ally as soon as one appears in the classifieds...
Why's that? You selling one? Slate Green outside with Slate Green inside:
Often looks just grey in photos, but it's a lovely greenish grey in reality and with that exterior, it's superb. Much nicer than the coalhole look.
