lol. I didn't buy the VRS for its looks. It's not the best looker, although I don't think it's ugly. It's what the car delivers which day to day which is what this comes down to
I am a Fabia VRS fan having bought one new in 2005. Really understated car.
Mine was angel tuned and every bit as fast as a Civic Type R performance wise, handling wasnt best, and traction in the wet was a disaster post re map.
I like Type R's never owned a Teg, but had an EK9 type R and have an S2000 now.
I think a decent Fabia is a lot more money anyway than a 182 or DC2 type R.
What about a decent Red top Prelude 2.2 VTI? The handling at speed in these is unbelievable, and an addictive Vtech rev range with 4ws. Its getting one thats the problem, and the seats are a bit pensioner so not to everyones taste.

IMO the Renault doesn't look as good, doesn't sound as good, isn't as rare, isn't a special and likely isn't as good to drive. The DC2 is thee BEST fwd car I've driven and simply fantastic.

It was you who recommended me a DC2/5. Each to their own I suppose

Here's a vid of my friend in his modded 182 chasing me round snetterton 300 in my standard (apart from discs and pads) '99 DC2

I love my Integra. I've owned it for 6 years now and can't see myself letting it go for a while still. Driving position is perfect, rifle bolt like gear changes with a very adictive vtec sound track LSD to get you round corners, Cheap and reliable to.

A man of taste

I swear that particular bike was possessed it was fast on a whole new level I easily kept up and often left my mates on their 1k bikes.

Probably the vehicle I most regret selling frown

I can't comment on the Clio but I did own an Integra for 5 years.

From the driving position to the engine to the handling, it really is a superb drive.

There's not a million computers on board so it's great for the diy mechanic.

A couple of points to look out for off the top of my head if you decide to buy are leaking rear light gasket seals. The seals break down and allow water into the boot which fills up the spare wheel pan. I was carrying that much water in there at one point I was soaking my rear passengers arses when I braked and it sloshed forward. Cheap diy fix.

Front to rear brake lines will be badly corroded on many of the examples now. Wasn't expensive to replace from my local Honda indy.

Rust on rear arches due to the rubber trims Honda fitted which trap all the dirt, dampness and salt etc.

My Integra came alive again when I changed several of the bushes. The rear trailing arms bushes in particular made a huge difference.

Get your profile updated and show some pics.

My mate bought it from me, he had that Gixxer for a few years then sold it to a guy who wrote it off at the end of the street after handing over the money frown

You'll struggle to find a better A/B road car than a DC2.

I've had circa 40 performance cars in 25 years (including many evos) and I stand by the fact the quickest B road car i've had was my Teg.

However it was a terrible car for a long journey (but obviously wasn't built for that).

Thanks for all the advice guys.

My budget is about £3-3.5k so low end of DC2 territory but it wont depreciate and some examples seem good for that amount....

I guess its a case of driving both really!

Thanks
