Maybe we need a separate thread for “New mass produced cars which you didn’t realise had been released
Fair enough. Sorry I bothered.
Actually come to think about it, I’m not sorry at all.
Not everyone has got the time to pore over the motoring press, so not everyone is as au fait with new releases as you may be.

Look at how hard it is for existing manufacturers to get a foothold into any sort of premium or luxury automobile segment - VW Phaeton, Lexus LS etcetera....!
To be fair, Lexus LS was a roaring success in launching a new luxury brand.
OK, Rolls Royce it ain't, but in many countries it carries a similar caché to BMW or Mercedes-Benz.

Toyota also deserve credit for giving the established European brands a kick up the arse in terms of build quality.
I would certainly rather have a Lexus LS than a contemporary Mercedes S Class or BMW 7 series.
I am equally certain that the current S Class and 7 series would not be the high quality levels they currently are, had their manufacturers not been given a fear of Lexus stealing their lunch money.

Subaru Vivio T-Top. 2 seater Kei car (they sold the 4 seater hatchback here) with removable targa roof panels, T-bar and rear window, or any combination of on or off. Roof on and back window off? Course you can.

Got to be honest. The VW Arteon had totally passed me by. Saw one the other day and it really did look nice. Then checked the specs and they only seem to do a 2L engine (petrol and diesel) as the range topper.

I'm sure I've seen those wheels on something else. A Suzuki or Toyota?

It looks like one of those X-90 Suzuki things that's been shrunk in the wash.

The mere fact the poster said they would get taken for it'a £25k sibling suggests otherwise.
It means that the £25k version is also has rather crass styling. It's a modern Mercedes, this is to be expected.

A korean manufacturer called a variant of their car the DMZ? Brilliant.

I hope they were going for the "Action Man Toy" look, because they've succeeded.

Out of interest, what cars are acceptable in your eyes?

It's the first time I've seen a SsangYong that I'd consider buying after less than 3 bottles of wine. I'd only have it in that colour scheme though. I'd also stick some of those terrible stickers that people used to put on 4x4's on the back.

Fairly good sellers in North America but in dire need of an update.

I'd like one of those, I notice they call it an SUV, not sure what is particularly SUV about it, as opposed to a 'a big estate car'

Not too shabby, admittedly, for a garden shed on alloys...
