You do know this is a car forum ?
And your point is?
his point is nothing to do with this thread - he has a beef with me for some reason. It is being dealt with.

I've seen two of these on the road now, can't say I'm a fan but I never knew the rear doors did that

I saw one in the car park at Halford's in High Wycombe last week (grabbing as much of the Meguairs' special offer as I can) - that door operation is a joy to behold, unlike the car. A really nice bit of engineering, that door.

My first thought when I saw one was that it's much bigger than I expected. I think it's a 7 seater though so it's probably not any bigger than other 7 seaters it's just it doesn't look like a typical people carrier.

Standard config is 2+3.

The 2+3+2 is an option and eats most of the boot.

They are only really able to do the third row because of the floor being so low.

Mercedes GLK

Never seen one on the road in the UK, but a bit more popular on the continent where I've seen a handful.

They couldn't make a RHD version, there wasn't room for the steering column

Yeah, I think it was based on a generation of C-Class that wasn't engineered for us in 4matic form.

Quite nice cars actually, I went in one in Austria when they were new

Trips to mainland Europe are always good for seeing new stuff.

2nd generation Renault Koleos for example:

I quite like the new Megane, it's a little different from the usual Golf size fodder

Boring one, but spotted a fairly new Astra estate this morning. Couldn't help thinking why buy such a small car, but think I need estate capacity?

E.g. Would you just by the vectra or insignia estate to begin with ?

Seems mad it's taken so long, I presume it's just an X-Trail port?

Estate cars in that class have been around since before I can remember, so clearly they're useful for some people.

I'm more disappointed that I don't think there will be any more Astra vans based on the Astra estate body - a nice spec Astra van would be an ideal company vehicle for me right now.

Yep based on the X-Trail, however I think Renault have screwed up with not making it available as a 7 seater.

Also, I saw a 17 plate Nissan X-Trail badged as X-Trial the other day. That was weird.

My guess was a deliberate error to test dealership PDI that clearly wasn't noticed

i seriously doubt that as the R is joined to the A.

Strange then. My passenger and I agreed that it was definitely X-Trial, not X-Trail.

It was near Cardiff. I only assumed that because I knew someone who bought a Range Rover Sport with Range Range on the bonnet, and when he noticed and took it back the Land Rover dealer said it had been a PDI test that their inspector had failed to spot

ETA: in this picture they don't look very well joined

No Pic i am afraid, but in Spain at the moment and saw a Renault Latitude. Looks like a last gen Laguna but bigger, never knew of its existence until now. Presumably slots in where Safrane left off?
