It's nothing to do with Rolls Royce, it was built by this chap as seen in a later guise of the car

Wasn’t that some sort of Yank Tank with the Merlin aero engine squeezed into it? I believe Rolls Royce motors weren’t too happy about it being passed off as a Rolls with the grille and badges.

Saw one of these while idly browsing Autotrader: MG ZS, doing a good job of rehashing the name of a hatchback onto an "SUV".

Looks like a Mazda from the front and a Kia from the rear...

Mazda Proceed Levante - a rebadged Suzuki Grand Vitara from back in the day when GM had a stake in Suzuki and Ford owned part of Mazda:

In the 1980s and 1990s the Australian government forced a bizarre badge engineering fiasco that unleashed some real oddities:

Holden Nova (Toyota Corolla):

Nissan Ute (Ford Falcon Ute):

Toyota Lexcen (Holden Commodore):

VW's US Atlas looks chuffin huge! Never heard of it until today.

I quite like thatlaugh

I'm guessing it's a "Ford Biddlybong Super XL" (or similar) underneath?
Nope, all VAG, it's on a stretched MQB platform, so basically a big Tiguan.
Shame they didn't sit that on a V10 Phaeton platform, might have been fun!

Classic Range Rover 4.2 (4.3):

Apparently the V8 used the crankshaft castings from the 'Iceberg' Rover V8 turbodiesel project.

Wonder why the V8 wasn't used in the P38A?

The engine was pretty ancient at that point. Maybe emissions... not sure.

It was used in the P38, with some revisions - the 4.0 is the same capacity as the previous 3.9, the bigger one went to 4.6 with a longer-throw crank.

Was re-done after the legal wrangle with Rolls Royce and now looks like this.

He's been residing in Spain with it for years, but still brings it back to the UK every year for its MOT.

Of course, from this year he wont need to!

Its only pre 1960 that does not need an MOT.
