It’s highely likely this is already on here...or probably more likely I’m just out of touch with current cars...I saw an MG ZS which looks like a Renault Kadjar from the back.
I honestly thought the brand had died a quite death! I know they had a hatchback and Mondeo sized something or other...
The reviews I've read say the engine/gearbox combinations completely ruin it. Shame.I honestly thought the brand had died a quite death! I know they had a hatchback and Mondeo sized something or other...

There's a MG dealer not far from me and a number of the old dears round my way have these on 18 plates as their chariot of choice, presumably as they're quite cheap for an auto version and roomy inside. I honestly thought the brand had died a quite death! I know they had a hatchback and Mondeo sized something or other...
Also, a lot of the small SUVs and MPVs are now a lot more expensive than the Citroen Picassos, Nissan Notes and such ilk bought new several years ago. I imagine the MG badge also has the heritage card for older people, harking back to the thrills of yesteryear. I can't say I find the ZS very attractive but they do seem very functional.
I dread to think what the depreciation would be though; their current offer is 5 years 0% HP which is rare for a new car - most new cars offers are PCP or PCH.

Sometimes called a Trekker, the Americans call it a Thing and Mexico/South America call it the Safari. It's a Type 181 if it's left hand drive, or 182 if it's right hand drive. They didn't make too many 182 as they didn't sell many here for some reason It's based on the Karmann Ghia floorpan

Doing the "cars with over 5.0", search on autotrader, and came across one of these, a convertible pickup?! with a 5.5 V8 that's hit every branch of the ugly tree on its way down.
Yes, a sad casualty of the "retro period" where Chevy tried to combine the allure of an old pickup with the craze for the retro Beetle, retro PT Cruiser and for electric metal roof retraction. Needless to say, it was a stupid idea and a Maloo was a much better idea.Doing the "cars with over 5.0", search on autotrader, and came across one of these, a convertible pickup?! with a 5.5 V8 that's hit every branch of the ugly tree on its way down.

They're expanding at a decent rate in China - they sold 140,000 cars last year and are on target to roughly double that this year. I suspect once they get properly established in the Chinese market they'll start trying to branch out to the rest of the world. kambites said:

They'll be launching an EV next year and looking to establish the brand in Europe. Potentially with a more Lynk and Co type direct leasing model. It won't be anything like old MG, but it should hopefully be better than previous ham-fisted efforts.
Let's not forget "old MG" included the MG 1300, the MG Metro and the MG Maestro/Montego. They weren't all dated two seaters.Edited by LuS1fer on Tuesday 24th July 18:38

Saw a car this morning on German plates, some funky badge that I couldn't make out. The only lettering on the car was on the wing, which read 'AS.'
It was a family five door saloon, had lights on the back which sort of ran the entire bootlid in a V shape. On the front, a cheap and nasty chrome grille split in the middle, sort of BMW style.
It was absolutely disgusting, but does anyone know what it could be? The german plates were sat in a square recess on the boot which gives me an inclination that it could be something US/Jap?
