No, I was thinking of the guy that survived, just slightly disabled.

These people are allready handicapped by their lack of brain power, besides we would only end up giving them a st load of benefits for his new disability.

Making them work would be better for all.

The "diagnostic tools" and key programmers have lept ahead since I last looked at them a few years back. Most of the cost under £200 and now do every thing possible such as key programming without the original, fault code reading and resetting, airbag reset, VIN changes without desoldering for suprisingly modern cars like 1995-2009 BMWs.

The latest cars in the last couple of years cost £1,000 upwards in large jumps for the same features but again that will only be until someone manages to clone the "diagnostic and error correction" tools invovled. One of them even locks itself and only works if you buy prepaid credits off the internet for each car that you need to correct or make keys for (having lost your own along with the VIN number).

Having said that I need a spare key for a Ford Focus Mk2 2004 onwards, and the programmer is only £40 plus the cost a blank key vs Ford wanting over £100. Which will also let me read fault codes and maybe alter dealer settings.

Don't give them credit. They are as stupid and ignorant as any criminal.
Technologies change therefore the criminals will change.

BBC are currently running a Crimewatch programme at about 10 in the morning and on it you'll get a video of an opportunist thief in a corner shop and the presenter will say something along the lines of -
".... whilst the shop assistant had his/her back turned he stole £150 from the open till. Help us catch him."
£150! ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY QUID! IS THAT ALL F.F.S.!!!!!
That gets air time while the theft of £43000 of car will be lucky to get a mention - anywhere!

I think the problem could be "advertised" if it was discussed in great length.

But then, i suppose those that know, already do.

It's probably excessive but it's also satisfying and no cause for regret.

It's not as if we lose great citizens when these scum occasionally disappear from this world is it?

I can sometimes summon up sympathy for someone stealing some food from a supermarket if they've got themselves into a mess, but car thieves along with burglars, muggers, kiddie fiddlers and ***ts that con old people.....nah.

I certainly wouldn't begrudge a car owner for carrying out a 'Tony Martin' under these kinds of circumstances.

As a BMW owner have been reading the other thread, but first time I have seen footage like this.

Is actually my wifes car, and last night we went to a wedding, and parked next to a new X3 and X5, she noticed both of them had a crook lock on steering wheel, and mentioned she had not seen them for years. I reminded her of the original thread I showed her the other week. This is in kent, and assuming i had not parked next to two PH'ers, It seems the word is out there......... even if BMW are trying to keep it quiet.

If they don't try and nick someone's motor they don't run that risk. Yeah death may be a bit strong but if you work hard for something and It's taken in minutes like that I'd see red, kill, dunno?

The worst thing is it's not the first time the owner was robbed. The first time was when he paid BMW £43k for a 1 series BMW...

Not really excessive, no. A high chance of death would likely prove a satisfactory deterrent.

What a strange thing to say.

How is it they are smashing glass and the alarms aren't going off? Which bit of glass is it?
