One owner 1.2L Nova for a bag
Discussion
I learned to drive in my Mum's 1988 5 door Nova Merit 1.2, and then proceeded to take out my 17 year old angst on it for the following year or so until she changed it in for the new shape 1.4 Luxe...and that had electric windows :-) Seeing those interior pics brings back some memories!!

Appeared in another thread and apparently it's been flogged. Garlick was interested, wonder if he bought it over the phone?
Got a linky? Cant search too well on my phone. CheersOh dear - its neither collectable nor particularly great as a daily driver.
The rattling plastic noise of the incorrectly adjusted glovebox lid is already haunting me nooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
I had 4 novas in the 90's - WTF!?? I suppose an ever increasing amount of spares in the garage- the ease of maintenance- and the fact the GTE's were a fun if relatively slow car to hoon around in kept me coming back for more.
I have seen the light now.

I've looked at that Nova advert a few times now, I always hated Novas too but it now appeals.
This trumps it though.

The north east is a hotbed of formerly rubbish cars.
My God, either the photographer fancies himself as "arty", or someone got their preschool child to take them! This trumps it though.

Good find though, in the spirit of this thread

I'd rather a 1.0 4-speed Merit to be honest.
Quoth possibly the only person ever to have been disappointed that Lexus didn't make an LS400 Popular Plus.Took the trims off mine. Far too ostentatious.

In B4 blind love proclamations for box arches.
Oh.
There is no love for this, I mean, a 1.2L? Cloth and foam headrests and a radio? Decadent frivolities. Give me a Merit with plastic frame headrests and enough plastic blanking plates to make me appreciate being aspirational, yet being toopoor tight to embrace it.
5 door as well, how practical.
I might be wrong, but was the Nova not considerably more expensive than the Chevette which it shortly was sold alongside before replacing?
Headrests! You posh bd! Oh.

My 81 MK1 Cavalier 1600l would of looked like a hooker wearing a tiara with these oppulent headrests you speak of, it did have reclining seats (half vinyl) for a touch of luxury but didnt have a cigar lighter you had to get a GL for that level of comfort!

I had a 1.4 SRI when I was 20, absolutely loved it.
I would happily have another tidy 1.4 SRI or a 1.3 SR for a runabout.
I always liked the Sr / Sri with the two tone paint.I would happily have another tidy 1.4 SRI or a 1.3 SR for a runabout.
i'd love a pre facelift 1.3sr in the mango sort of yellow, with the twin carb setup from the sport. Yes please
