We have a newbie in the office, part 1 architect qualified, can't reverse by his own admission. Yesterday I had to Reverse the office car out for him, as he couldn't do it. However, he is way better at golf than me. I'm terrible on a golf course, yet he is amazing.

So the purpose of this red-fuelled boring thread is would you rather be a good golfer, or a good driver? he's a nice guy, but he can't drive for toffee. I'd rather be a better driver.

You're asking this on a motoring forum?

Well, some people on here seem to be here for the watches and general chat rather than the motoring. I do see your point though.

laugh

exactly!

Golf leaves me cold - driving (with wheels, not a particularly chubby club) is much more fun!

Driving is much more fun! Too right. I will limp round a golf course, but I certainly don't enjoy it as much as I enjoy driving. Although my GF laughed at me for describing myself as a "keen motorist"...

This.

Never have and never will play a round of golf.Apart from the "Crazy" variety at the seaside

a long time ago.

Come to think of it not much of a driver either, which is why i drive a 4WD car to keep me

on the black stuff.

Well, as long as you enjoy it, that's all that matters, even if you need 4wd wink

Golf is a good walk spoiled.

Driving, on the other hand, is useful, purposeful activity.

There is also the consideration that any boyfriend I've ever had who was into golf, was a tt.

I now recognise this as a warning.

I've walked out of car showrooms when the salesman started to tell me how many sets of golf clubs I could get in the boot!

If I could be as good as Tiger Woods or as good as me as a driver, I'd go for golfer, but otherwise biggrin

Pretty decent at both thank you. Play to a fairly modest handicap. No where near the lowest in the company though, we have a 2 handicapper in accounts.

I'd rather be a good driver.

As a PH'er.

I'd take it as a blow to my man hood if someone had to reverse a car for me. But then I suppose it comes down to priorities. Anyone ever found that if women are watching they suddenly reverse park faster, palming the wheel with one hand and chewing imaginary gum? Just me?

On the subject of reversing, the overly large rear spoiler puts me off when looking

backwards.

I can park my Fiesta in a tiny space no problemboxedin

Never really got into golf, played a few games. Thought of it as an old mans game/sport. I always thought when I stopped karting, I would try golf but it just does not appeal.

So driving over golf

Driving, undoubtedly.

I sometimes go to a place just to hit a bucketful at the driving range, then drive back on a decent road.
