Yes.
A.k.a. The Higham Special.

Later renamed Babs, by its second owner John Parry-Thomas, and used to set a Land Speed Record at Pendine Sands.

I can't see the car you're talking about. There's a porsche carrera GT behind something that's blanding* me.

That's the thing Porsche made for China or somewhere like that. Can't remember what it's called.

Reviving an old thread…

The car I’m thinking of is/was:
- a one-off prototype
- the company’s first foray in to this type of engine – they had another go another 15/16 years later which was 33% larger in capacity
- equipped with a manual gearbox
- has 5 seats

I'm going to get it's something that the lancer evo is based off of.

Nope... Longer than an Lancer Evo...

The manufacturer didn't put it into production as it thought a horsepower war would start because of it (ho ho ho! If they could see things now - oh, they're a protagonist / antagonist (delete as appropriate) of the current horsepower war...)

- Single-camshaft on each bank
- Its boot is full of fans & radiators
- RWD
- Sadly in the current climate it would not be made today

BMW767i?

If I'm right, the give away was the boot full of radiators- I remember a picture of it years ago and then read that it had a manual box. Seemed mad but brilliant at the same time.

Google helped me with their next attempt at a 16 cylinder engine, then I remembered the story about the Rolls Royce Phantom used in Johnny English.

If I'm wrong, I've just babbled on for nothing!

The E32 V16 manual was badged "750i" despite the engine pushing 6.7l. Internally named The Goldfisch https://bmwconceptsarchive.wordpress.com/2015/01/1...
