Am I the only one thinking this could be a good potential investment? In 20 years time these are bound to be rare? Especially compared to DB9's & DBS' of similar age.
Maybe if it had been a game-changer model or even just something exclusive (like the earlier mentioned Alfa 8C). I think it's more likely to be forgotten by most people.

My first thought was exactly "rarity will make them valuable" but with 1000 made, I doubt there's going to be any rarity value.

This idea of the Virage from Aston Martin just shouts, "where running out of ideas, and we cannot afford to design a new car.

Its seems that either it is harder to shoe-horn in a market for a new model at this price point, or simply they arent as good at it as BMW/Audi/VW.

[The actual story behind this thread isnt as interesting as noting how mundane or absent the user garages of those leading the Aston mockery tend to be scratchchin

I agree. I think it's a car that in years to come, people will have to explain what it is and how it is different from other Aston Martin's of this era. (DB9, DBS)

In relative Aston Martin terms it could end up being a bit of a used bargain for a while.

Glad it's not just me that has a problem with Aston's model line up. I have no idea what each of them is supposed to represent, or what differentiates them from other models.

Of the Three (DB9/Virage/DBS)- The Virage is the most appealing to me, and certainly the nicest to look at.

Maybe people prefer the name DB9 to Virage?

Why not just stop DB9 production? Let's be honest, this was always just a DB9 series 2. If the new DB9's only appearing next year that would at least save confusion.

They missed out DB8 because there were concerns some (principally the US market) would think it was a V8 powered car, not a V12. Just as with the film The Madness of King George - it was initially meant to be The Madness of King George III but there were concerns some would think there had been two previous films.

While the current Aston "shape" is stunning, as indeed is it's founding ancestor (saw a DB7 rag top yesterday and it was STUNNING) they are a bit samey now...the only one that stands out is the One-77

If you hit 'view all cars' on their website you will see the issue. There is no obvious walk through the range, it's all over the place. Why don't they just do a simple line of cars; Vantage, DB9, Virage, DBS and Vanquish. Then have Rapide and Cignet off on a different line.

Having all of the engine derivatives on there is bloody stupid, and the categories (V8, V12, Vantage, 4-door and city) make it even worse. Why does Vantage have its own!?

They could have a tie in with Asprey or Swarovski and have the 'Vajazzle' interior upgrade, perhaps Gulzar would be interested!
