Who actually does a 0-60 run, ever? The in-gear performance of this will be incredible.
Traffic light grand prix wink
The fun with this car wouldn't be in a competetive traffic light Grand Prix, rather having the ability to bonfire the tyres through the first three gears, then hook up the traction and disappear into automatic ban territory.

A much better solution in my mind would have been to drop an LS9 in there.

What I dont get is......why start with a super duper rare 1M?
Basically, what they have done, is deprive some one of having one in the future.

With the amount of work that's gone in to that hardly anything of the 1m will really remain. So why not start with a 118i instead and leave the 1M's to people who want them?

Regarding 0-60 times, instead, look at the 0-125mph times. These are recording 0-124mph (200kph) times. This quotes 12.5s but you should shave a lick off that as it's 0-125 not 124.

12.1 - Corvette C6 ZO6 (512 ps)
12.1 - Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (530 ps)
12.1 - Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet TechArt (600 ps)
12.1 - Sportec SP 600 Cabriolet ( 600 ps)
12.2 - SKN 911 Turbo (540 ps)
12.2 - Porsche 997 911 Turbo Tiptronic (480 ps)
12.3 - Mercedes SL 65 AMG Chipped (673 ps)
12.3 - MTM Audi R8 (560 ps)
12.4 - MTM Audi RS4 Avant (602 ps)
12.5 - Mercedes Benz SL65 AMG Prototype (700 ps)
12.5 - Nissan R35 GT-R (485 ps)
12.6 - Ferrari F430 (490 ps)
12.7 - Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet (480 ps)
12.8 - Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (530 ps)
13.0 - Lamborghini Gallardo (500 ps)
13.0 - Porsche 997 911 Turbo Manual (480 ps)
13.1 - Dodge Viper SRT-10 (612 ps)

I'd say it's keeping pretty good company.

Then again, it should be burned to the ground for having a shopping list on the side. Or any where.

The donor car on show wasn't a 1M to begin with so this is more a bitsa than the 1M was to begin with......

Don't de-badge it. Replace the badge for a 116i item. You know it makes sense biggrin

At least they have resisted the normal urge to tart it up like a gin palace.

I'd rather have standard wheels, as mentioned, body coloured bonnet and boot. I'd also rather have a little less power and normally aspirated with manual gear box.

In general, I love it. My kind of sillyness.

Has the 1M had a power hike since the production run ended? The story seems to have given the standard car an extra 25bhp!!

I agree with the previous posts, the 0-60 does seem slow. IIRC BMW claimed 4.7secs but Wiki shows 4.4secs with the standard 1M

[small]BMW seem to underrate the 0-60 times, 135i was 5.1secs, autocar managed 4.7 with real world tests. So I would be led to believe Wiki is accurate[small]

You can do that in an MX5 turbo for £2k.

Nope but most standard and dyno'd have been pulling figures between 350-360hp

and performance testing carried out in Europe on a stock car

0-60mph is pretty fickle in modern cars though. For starters if you need a gear change to get to 60mph it'll always be slower than a similar car that doesn't.

And half a second isn't even a blink of an eye. Not too mention 0-60mph is largely dictated by grip and traction off the line. Unless this G-Power 1M is setup for drag launches I'm willing to bet the only grip advantage is tyre width, which with 600bhp is still going to make sod all difference when you are trying to put the hammer down.
