The seven year warranty is worth a fair bit, too.
the seven year warranty is essential, from what I hear from those I know who drive them.Reliability will come eventually though and with the aesthetic and drivability inroads they are making into the market they will be very hard to ignore in 5 years time in certain markets.

I wonder how long the marketing bods have been waiting to put the word Pro in there, or whether there was a fight over the possibility of using the prefix Ex instead?
They've been calling their 3 door "Pro Ceed" ever since the first generation was launched. They've also already used "Ex Ceed" on a concept car a few years ago.
For some reason, I notice they've avoided using "Con" as a prefix up to now!

I bought the little Piccanto recently brand new for going to work in. I wanted something very cheap with good reliability. I love it. It's really good fun to drive and even the wee triple engine makes a little growl. Not as good on the juice as promised. But 7 year warranty and no road tax makes for good cheap motoring which is also fun on a wee twisty road.
I think Kia have followed the same pattern as Honda and Toyota did. started out with pig ugly vehicles that were super cheap but a bit crap. Sorted the reliability issues, then the styling, and look at Honda now.
Kia have topped Which magazine surveys too and come out no'1 a few times now for customer service.
Not long till they earn the respect they are due.
As long as this car is fun to drive and priced correctly they'll have a winner.
BTW, I don't work for KIA lol

Would be better to look at Honda about 12 years ago IMO...I think Kia have followed the same pattern as Honda and Toyota did. started out with pig ugly vehicles that were super cheap but a bit crap. Sorted the reliability issues, then the styling, and look at Honda now.

The comments about the size of the lights made me chuckle!
I like it, looks great. A bit bland in white, but the tiger orange looks very good indeed.
Lets just hope that in 'competing' with the Scirocco they don't mean the price as well. That would be a smidge above ones station, I'd suggest.

The recession could work as this car's advantage. If the engine is good enough the tuning community may embrace it with some aftermarket suspension/wheel/tire upgrades. I've driven an Optima recently and while it didn't make me happy as a driver, it did seem to make the passengers happy with its built quality and ride comfort.
