Im not sure what the link proves?
That it's not real, and has nothing to do with Google.

See my post above.

Your friend is quite strong-headed?

Jesus H Christ, what a absolute tit he must be.. Just tell him to think for a moment. And if he won't, then he can go and throw five grand or however much into the arms of a guy who actually is not Portuguese and instead looks like this:

Jeez, relax people, no money has changed hands, I gave him my view but he's quite strong-headed.

I asked him to forward the email chain that had been going on between them.

The seller sent them the following link to show they were genuine...

http://google.com-inc-wallet.co.uk/Virtual-Wallet....

I *think* I have actually convinced him its not actually legit...

If you don't take the leap and trust someone, then you will never get a bargain.

I have 100 Audi A3s, brand new but all have a small amount of damage to the right fender after the ROLO ship crashed into my private island, Audi have said they want nothing to do with them and the insurance company say to scrap all 100 and they'll write it off.

If anyone wants one then call it £3K in cash, if you have any concerns I will fly out to you in my helicopter and deliver the car personally.

If your friend is stubborn enough not to believe its a scam, I'll send you my Portuguese phone number and you can tell the buyer I'll collect it for you. Then watch him make even more excuses why that isn't possible.

Could always just use a credit card and then do a chargeback if anything goes wrong
Possibly not. The card company would have done their job correctly in funding Google Wallet.

The guys email isn't brunoclive@yahoo.co.uk is it? He's constantly advertising a white Renaultsport Megane F1 for crazy money. I emailed him about it last week and he used the same 'google wallet' link. Every time it comes up I've reported the ad. He also mentioned a van and a Focus ST in the emails.
