Things you want standard on all cars in 10 years?
Discussion
Auto-dimming mirror
Xenons (including full beam)
Power fold electric mirrors
LED indicators.
I saw my first set of front LED indicators on a new merc the other day, and i must say, on some cars, the indicators can be drowned out a bit by the headlights. These things were great and i could see them a mile off.
We also need better designed cup holders. So many cars have st cupholder, it's untrue.

Quick clear front screen
ESP
Dynamic Sat nav
Cylinder deactivation so you can have one modular block for economies of scale but then turn on or off pistons according to power requirement.
Auto brakes ie if it can tell your approaching a static object at too fast a speed it emergency stops to prevent collision should save some accidents
Heated and cooled front and rear seats plus steering wheel.
Lane cruise control and dynamic cruise control so if you want gads off steering wheel on those long 3 hour M way drives

Machine guns, revolving number plates, ejector seat for when the other half just won't shut the hell up. Ability to fly or at least hover would be handy too.
Maybe a built in electric chair that shocks you when you sit in the middle lane for no reason for a mile or more. Similarly it can shock you when you are driving 20mph below the limit with a line of more than 6 cars stuck behind you.

I want nannying nonsense like automatic lights & wipers and parking sensors made illegal.
If you don't know when to turn your lights on or clear your fking windscreen and you can't conduct a simple slow-speed parking manoeuvre, maybe you shouldn't be driving.
This trend for an electronic veil of safety is just making idiots think they can do as they please, the car will sort it out for them. fk it, ABS and traction control while we're at it. And automatic brakes. Yes, definitely automatic brakes.

I'll concede on the indicators (though it wouldn't hurt the designers to put them somewhere where they aren't drown out (my 45yo Landrover manages so why not a modern hatchback??)Xenons (including full beam)

Cupholders are neither here nor there, why they put them in the way bugs me though, I can't use the ones in my MX-5 AND change gear comfortably. Waste of time!
For the rest PH sums it up below...

Throttle pedal, brake pedal, steering wheel.
I'll add a radio to that please. A/C is nice but it's not a deal breaker (none of my current cars have it). Heated front screen screen on my Focus was nice, wish those were more common.Papa Hotel said:

I like every single one of those things. It's called convenience. Why buy a dog and bark yourself? If you don't know when to turn your lights on or clear your fking windscreen and you can't conduct a simple slow-speed parking manoeuvre, maybe you shouldn't be driving.

Yes, there are times when I want to drive, but 90% of the time I'm either commuting or driving the family around. Why do you feel that the only valid option is the balls out, fully committed, screw everything, uncomfortable (most of the time) go-kart option?
F**k that. Life's too short.
