Chris should get a 10 minute weekly slot on the proper telly for these videos. Great stuff!!!!

Normally with videos of racing, and some of you may ridicule me for saying this, but after about 10 minutes I'm approaching boredom. This however, well....it stirred something in me. Those machines looked sublime and it all sparked some emotion in me. Great video Chris, and thanks for making it a long one.
Couldn't agree more! Though it has to be said, I think the fact they were all classic motor's played a big part!

There is nothing quite like classics racing. What I love about them is the verity of cars involved that you just don’t get with modern racing. Also the way the cars move around, sheer magic. The old schools mechanics and not a lap top in site. Also the fact that people are not afraid to use and abuse some very expensive cars, that red Ferrari 250 SWB being a classic example. Love it

Wonderful! Can PH petition Mr Frankel to do a video on his other cars please? Seems like a great bloke.

Distinct lack of heel and toe in the Giulia Mr Harris, is that because of pedals being awkward? I find that the case with a lot of old cars.

Well done to the team of three making this a great 19 minutes worth. I've always loved classic racing and one day will get involved, of that there's no doubt. As many have said, the noise, smell, the variety...it's all great stuff.

I'm of the opinion that CH was merely taking the mikey when pointing out the 911, seeing as he's been slated a bit on PH for being a lover of Pork. Am I right, Chris? smile

Good spot: couldn't get near the throttle when the brakes were cold let-alone hot! R.Frankel (like most people) is a foot taller than me, so I just use loads of padding in the seat. Does mean with straps tight, I can't reach the top of the wheel properly, hence the new technique of 'shuffle-drifting' which I found most enjoyable.

Old sheds are just excellent. Although the front-running U2TC machines are tricker than some of the new stuff I race!

Thanks for a great Video.
Did this one with a friend a few years ago and we both agree it was the best fun we'd had motor racing ever!
What surprised us was how relaxed everyone was, from the organizers to the other competitors. When we broke the gearbox in qualifying (Rover SD1) we were working on it late at night and all the other competitors were giving us food from the BBQ or keeping us topped up with beer. The organizers also could not have been more helpful (free bottle of wine when you complete scrutineering!).

If you ever get the chance....do it..

That's a '64 Falcon, we run one.

'63 cars had a more rounded front. The Falcons are great fun if set up properly. Lighter than the Mustangs, but can only run 5.5" rims as opposed to the 6" on the Mustangs. Same car underneath. Falcon is the weapon of choice in the Masters series for pre '66 touring cars. The avons permitted in the 6 hours are worth 8 seconds (at Spa) or so over the Dunlops which make the car completely different experience and would give the grip levels expected.

Had the same problems with understeer in ours, again, cured by slackening off the front and sorting pressures. The Falcon was homologated at circa 980kgs for rallying! Though it turns out that some of the drive train was supposedly 'missing' when this was measured.....

Been banging on about Spa 6 hours for years, and have always said nothing to touch it.. Went to Goodwood Revival this year and was underwhelmed in comparison. Best place on earth when the sun is out. Is a 'car breaker' though. The engine boys are getting towards 450 hp on the 289 so they go well in a straight line wink

You just cant beat spa in anything, it is the best circuit in the world... I've done it bent double in a frogeye in the hissing rain, and full chat in the Tuscan in glorious sun. I cant wait to go back and would happily race just there..

Need to keep the TVR out of the barriers next time though banghead

Cracking video, thought I spotted you in the hotel bar Chris!

I was a rather lucky boy being able to go to this, technically 'working'. Flew one of our clients out who was racing his Lotus 18, and we managed to watch qualifying on the Friday, unfortunately couldn't stay for the races.

Fantastic collection of cars, and what a circuit to watch them at!

Best of luck for next time too chaps

Not tempted to invest in a U2TC car of your own Chris?
