It's a Tart Kart! (and I use the word "tart" with the great affection and certainly without malice or disrespect to the (much), fairer sex!). Tart Kart it is then. Greetings.

My wife thinks they're awful.

We went to look at them and she refused point blank because of the looks. So she got an XC60 instead.

I have to say though to the PH editorial team that I'm a bit disappointed by this article though. This is exactly the sort of mindless drivel I'd expect from a lad's mag, not a proper motoring publication. I'd hate PH to be some po faced humourless mag, but this is pretty crass and old fashioned nonsense.

In general I rather like all things automotive and I support the industry as a whole in its attempts to maintain its prominence in the economy and its entitement to develop and produce new vehicles in the face of stricter and stricter controls on carbon emmissions and environmentally-responsible industrial practices.

But the production of the Evoque I regard to be nothing but an absolutely pointless waste of resources and an object exercise in environmental vandalism.

Please let's not mention it again.

Didn't Victoria Beckham help design it?. It's a sodding girls car. Serious negative tweed.
she designed one piece of optional interior trim on the std car, and some daft special edition. So no is the answer really.

Yes it is a compllete girls car. It would be right at the bottom of my shopping list.

I think of it as a less reliable, overpriced alternative to the Dacia Duster (which I happen to have a lot of respect for as it goes).

Was it even possible to tell whether they were functioning at night? I drove many a mile illuminating the road ahead from the glow of my cigarette.
so do non-functioning lights make a car "manly" and xenons or leds make it "girly" or homosexual???? - Awaiting the storm to come upon me, now hehe

Couldn't give a f**k what any one thinks to be honest. I like it and actually think it looks fantastic as a convertible. If I wasn't a tight Yorkshireman, I'd buy one.

I have trouble believing this, very few people don't seek approval from some group or other.

I've been spending a lot of time in one of the work's Defenders this week - a 90 Td5 which is brillinat- and I think it deos cure you of car envy/lust. In the Disco 3, you look at Disco 4's and there is always the niggle at the back of your mind thinking "perhaps I should upgrade?" whereas everyone knows, an older tattier, more dented and scratched Defender just looks even cooler. An antidote to the mutlitude of white Audis about the roads.

Plus (and I'd forgotten this happened since I sold-out of TVR ownership) other Defender drivers actually wave to you. wavey

The Victoria Beckham connection was that they copied her skin tone and texture for the orange leather interior.....

In that case what the hell were Land Rover playing at?? It's a legitimate excuse claiming she designed it so they don't take the flaming for its squashed looks. But if they actually meant it, and then claimed VB designed it to con chelsea women into buying it then they are a bunch of clever, devious bds. Charging that much for a freelander with a bodykit!!!
