Even if it does need rust repairs you're still quids in. Wish I'd found mine for that price, it would make what I've spent on it more palatable.

Waxed it today, paint came up well.

A Euro spec O/S/R light cluster cleans the rear up and gets rid of the fugly rear fog light. smile

Indeed. While mine sticks out a bit, it is within the rear bumper which would mean a hole were I to remove it.

Rust will be sorted for circa £300, and should be done by this time next week smile

Does Chris Harris approve of your choice?
As you may have seen on Twitter, absolutely not!
i always respected Chris's opinion, except on diesels, and range rovers, and FWD cars and ... tongue out

Right then, less than a week of ownership and I've just dropped it with the bodyshop for the sills to be sorted.

Hopefully the replacement roof will be on within two weeks...

It reminds me of my old one. Same colour, same spec (including the 'easy access' sills). I murdered it and turned it into a Westfield.

Been considering another one as a daily, even if just for the nuclear heater. So cheap to buy and run. £/smile economy was great biggrin

Thing is, most (non enthusiast) owners probably don't know about the rust issues. I wonder how many will crumble away and become uneconomical to repair?

The standard answer to any question on here is MX5.

So my answer is MGF, faster, better mpg and British.
Love mine, dirt cheap to own and doesn't rust like MX5, we looked at lots and most were rotten.
Covered nearly 5k mile in 4 months. Every MX5 we looked at for the admittedly low budget looked capable of passing the end of the road tops.

Lexus will go cry

Love it dearly but need to save on running costs due to impending house move.
Wouldn't losing the TVR result in more money realised and a better-balanced subsequent fleet? Or is that not a go-er in emotional terms?

Not ready for that yet! Besides, this little Mazda is rather good fun.

How long I can resist another automatic barge is another matter

We have a 1.6 monza which does that too. was supposed to hold it's value, but I fear that it's halved in value in the 3 years of ownership. Not that I car as it's a great hoot.

One tip : st tyres are MORE fun.

Good choice on British Racing Green smile

Bargain for £600, but not my cup of tea.
