Well crossed that landmark milage

It didn't fall to pieces infact it feels just the same as when I bought it. It truely is amazing how well engineered cars are these days, I remember 80's cars 100k really would be the nackers yard but now its really nothing for a modern car.

I guess I'm really getting the value out of the car now really driving down the depreciation cost per mile.

So I've two cars in this club both run as tight as a drum, I'd have to say for future purchases I may only buy cars with this milage at much cheaper prices then run them till they break.

We've got a 59 plate Transit in work that's just passed 300,000. Apart from being a lot dirtier it drives pretty much like new, maybe even a little better as everything's not so tight.

10 plate Insignia is now on 92k, I'd imagine I'll be on 100k by Christmas.

My 2008 company Mondeo just went back with 173k on it after excatly 4 years... other than a power steering pump and a split pipe on the turbo it was fault free. It needed disc and pads every couple of services and front tyres every 30k, but was still on its original clutch and exhaust and its first set of rear tyres lasted over 70k miles.

I remember company cars in the past feeling completely knackered by 70k.

My 996 has 117k on it... that's requiring slightly more maintenance though!

I never purchased a car that has under 100k on the clock. Granted, i've only ever bought 2.

Fiesta 1.3 1999 117k on the clock.

9-3 2.0T 2002 141k on the clock.

The Fiesta was an experience but the Saab is fine!

yes Although I dont want to curse it.

As posted in the twentys plenty thread, my little baby is a trooper and is as eager to eat the miles as she ever was.

I fully expect to keep my toaster well beyond 100k, it has nearly 20k on the clock now after 18 months.

Not convinced 80s cars didn't do ok with high mileage. Dad had a Bluebird that clocked over 300,000 miles in the 14 years he had it. (Had it brand new through to the knackers yard).

My Scenic's just tipped over the 100,000 mile mark, although shortly after doing so the instrument panel died. One new panel later and the car says it's done 130 miles so far!

That has to be the best way of car ownership. You choose the exact options you want you know the full car history and over that age and milage the effective cost per mile is very good VFM.

2006 V70 D5 is at a shade under 92,000 now, and we'll be driving back from Croatia in a week, and doing the same trip in the new year

Won't quite hit it but we won't be far off

Might celebrate by getting it chipped...

Mine clicked onto 118118 a few weeks back.

To celebrate I ran over a couple of moustachioed twins

Neighbours 1994 1.0 Micra not far short of 400K. He's had it from new. Never had any serious issues with it.
