Wonder if a coupe version will be forthcoming ?

I think the 1 series coupe is horrid, the 4dr is okay but not really a BMW fan.

Just went in to my local dealer and expressed an interest and they put me on the list for the car, they said that they had a lot of interest in the car already.

Drove an A250 sport with DSG today, and first impressions were that steering was very light, so if the AMG has the same steering that's a bit worrying.

Also didn't think the DSG box was that quick, almost like a previous generation VW box, so lets hope that it gets a good overhaul.

I think design wise it looks spot on, especially with the new grill which I'm assuming will be on the AMG. Only bad angle is bang on from the rear, which by the sound of Chris' report could be the only view some if us will get of it wink

There's always Brabus and AMG Black to take things further. Although then we'll be taking the car out of the reach for most people.

And Chris, when you do get the chance to test the final car, can you get behind the wheel of the M135i xDrive too? It would be interesting to see how the BMW compares to its all wheel drive rivals.

I have sat in, started up, revved, listened to, got in, got out and then got back in, an A45 AMG.

There is a Sports seat option (RECARO) where the seats have a great race harness belt 'eyehole' section.

The Sports Aero pack is available as a cost option (much the same as the C63 Black Series) This is front bumper air flow flicks, and a great big rear spoiler etc.

The car sounds great, not poor/blow dryer noises like I was lead to think that it might be.

Call me old fashioned but if i'm paying top dolla for a german mentalomobile I want big massive spoilers, i'm going to rape you front bumpers, massive spoiler, black roof, rear diffuser, quad exhaust, 19" alloys, full leather seats, dash, side panels and a fire extinguisher.

Any thing else is Mercedes being cheap.

Back to the drawing board guys.

They did a few of those... SL63 AMG Black anyone? That is however, actually "top dolla" in the true sense of it!

So it has lift off oversteer...woo hoo.

Just make the AMG versions rwd and be done with it.

More importantly, what was the rear leg room like?

having to Scandinavian flick the car would suggests it refuses to lift off over steer, this is the next stage down from yanking the handbrake up

Strangely appealing that for once a company isn't pointlessly blinging up a car just because it's faster than the other models. Excessive and pointless plastic tat stuck all over the outside of cars is somewhat tiresome these days.

I'm sure I'm in the minority or companies wouldn't all have a Mansory Dept.
I couldn't agree more. One of the things I loved about my C43's is that they looked identical to any C Class four pot with monoblocs and side skirts. Stealth is good.

I had a Focus RS Mk2 for about 18 months, a superb car. But got rid because it was a total Chave magnet.
Every time I went out with it some Tw@t in a Corsa would drive two inch off your rear.

Now have a Caterham.....and don't have a problem any more with the Maxpower brigade laugh

I can't tell if this is sarcastic or not, but I found it quite cramped in the back. Not only leg room but also the high waist and low roof means a small window. Looks good from outside, but made it a bit dark in the back too. Kids would hate it in there

If it's kept looking standard, it makes it a street sleeper. In my book, that's no bad thing.

Its' an ugly, ugly car but I don't see how it "looks" less "chav" than an RS3 or this?

M3, Focus, Mit Evo, Subaru etc... drivers are not going to switch to girly shopping trolley no matter the power it may have along with its likely silly price tag.

Its not going to happen.

A 1 Series 'M' maybe not an A-Class.

A niche that didn't need filling.

a deeply ugly car, but true its not chavvy like the rally versions, still has a nasty low rent interior, and expensive given the cost of the 135M
