My guess so hgvs have the widest turn they can to get round those tight bends. If that was in England with all the numpties we have the country would grind to a halt!

But that would only be valid in one direction.
Maybe its to help the heavy wagons maintain momentum going up the hill ?

Can't view the link at work but I'm guessing that's Sam Crac's video where you get the fear the car might just carry on off the end of the ramp? I think it's in the comments somewhere that transporter ramps like that one are angled upwards slightly to stop such an event occurring (with heavy cars at least).
