Water in the rear footwells might be due to the drains being blocked, they underneath the top . One Pinot Noir , please !

I stumbled onto piston heads a few weeks ago and I have been hooked ever since! After reading this story I just had to make it official so that I could comment. Love the story...this is what its all about! Thanks for the inspiration. Awesome stuff.

Blimey, you live down the road from me! I've always driven past Persephone and thought what a lovely looking thing she is! Great to know the back story about her.

Hi,
I have a 996 convertible(2003) and have had the same problem with wet rear foot wells as well as bad condensation in the car during the winter.
I recently took my car for a check up, I mentioned this to the mechanic and he said that it was a common problem with convertibles.
The way that he fixed the problem was to remove both rear speakers and inside there is a plastic plate that has drain holes in the bottom of it. These get blocked and the water cannot get away, so it runs over the plastic plate and then down to the foot well. The mechanic said that Porsche main dealers with charge a fortune to do this as they say it requires the removal of far more that just the speaker. The mechanic also showed me a little gadget that he had made to do the job, which is effectively a flexible tube which he pours water into then uses compressed air to push the blockage out.You may also find that the same thing happens, as there are drain holes at the front as well.

Hope this helps

Hello,

I have the same car, 1991, and i'm looking for a solution to fix the ski on the roof.
Do someone know where I can find the same system ?

THX,
