Precisely why Jon has done pretty well for himself: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Barneswink
Ahhh there we go. The original poster's video looked like he was fighting the car, Jon's lap looked effortless.

Indeed. The car looks like it was setup with the usual factory fresh understeer though. Those that drive these cars know that the oversteer corrections we see on film become automatic when one drives any powerful 7 on track. Was it on road tyres or slicks?
High power sevens on slicks can be extremely understeery until some heat builds in the front tyres.

Any track Caterham to be fair! They're generally not as wildy oversteery as their reputation suggests unless you try hard, and it's rarely the fastest way round....unfortunately :P

If you don't get Caterham, why even come here?!
Different strokes for different folks. I fully respect Caterham's ethos but personally they do nothing for me (and yes I've driven one, a Roadsport), I would never want to own one nor would I care to drive one again. Does that make me less of a petrolhead? No, just one with a different set of values that "work" for me.
Indeed, just because some people aren't obsessed by track cars doesn't mean they aren't an enthusiast - I understand where all the detailers, modders, classic enthusiasts etc are coming from.
I would say most people "obsessed" with track cars have quite a broad interest in all things motor related. I have a chum with a series 1 Landrover. We have very different hobby cars, but are both enthusiasts and are interested in each others vehicles but not to the point we want to swap.

Getting the whole idea of a pure driving experience (which is kind of the ethos) and wanting one, or even thinking it delivers what it says, are not the same.
