Yeah that realistic becuase a GTR doesnt have MEGA running cost RIGHT?!

I for one think it looks awesome.
If you look over on the GTR forums, running costs really don't seem that bad for a car with that performance- just make sure you have a good warranty just in case!

I think the bodywork additions work well, they make the car a bit less...bloaty...looking, although it wasn't bad before. Not sure 16hp in 350 would make a massive difference, but you never know.

" 3.7-litre V6 "

Is this normally aspirated? Is the standard 370 3.7 litres, I thought it was 3.0?

Standard is 3.7 (350 is 3.5), both NA.

Surely any level of downforce at all means zero lift?
They mean net lift will be zero thanks to the downforce. A car will normally naturally create lift at speed. The downforce package should mean even at speed the car isn't becoming lifted of the ground as the downforce counter acts. The kit is probably producing quite a bit of downforce but it just ends up working against the lift.

Excellent, thanks for that. So great to have a big NA engine!

ETA We need to know the weight!

I really like the look of this, its just boy racer / 'because race car' enough for me without being silly or too stupid imo.

I just looked up how much the normal model weighed. I wish they were a fair bit lighter, nearly 1600kg I'm lead to believe! That doesn't give the power to weight I was hoping to see from something like this.

I agree, 1600kg is 400kg too much IMO.

The Griffith 500 weighed 1060kg apparently. Where does the majority of that difference come from?

Looks lovely.

Don't see enough of these around frown

Not keen on the white. I think white has become a bit of a chavvy colour to own recently, with the majority of Chelsea tractors and footballers' cars all being bloody white!

Does anyone know how much a modern cars bare monocoque body/chassis weighs nowadays?

(I'd guess there is substantial weight in the floorpan!)

I've always liked the 370Z. Great looking, and the interior's actually quite nice.

But I think the credit crunch killed sales - at least, you hardly ever see one.

I'd imagine a fair amount would be all the safety gubbins that are designed to stop you dying in an accident/pass EU legislation etc...

I'd imagine the punitive taxes on such cars probably killed them just as much...

I love it, but the cost will kill it, a good second hand rocket once prices reach the 'attainable by mere mortals' level.

Liking the look of this, but to compete Nismo will have to have worked wonders on the "rough as a bag of sh*te" V6. Throttle response will have to be a whole lot better than standard, the noise will have to be a whole lot better, and the steering needs sharpening up to make the whole car feel more agile and Cayman-like.

While they're at it, they should strip 200Kg's from the weight!!

My concern is price.... If it's sub-£30k it has a chance, if not, sorry Nismo...

I've always wanted to love the 370Z- it looks fantastic from the outside but seems a tad 'american' for the UK market. The seats are terrible, not supportive in any way, the interior is ok at best.

Would make a good project car IMO- there is so much I'd want to change on the standard car buying a new one would never make sense.. 8-10yrs old on the other hand and you wouldn't feel bad about scrapping some of the interior and a few other weight saving and handling mods..

I had a 370Z. The only gripes were that there was no reach adjustment for the steering column. The Exhaust was far too quiet. The road roar was too load.

Apart from that, it was a good car. Lots of torque from the engine, and handling (although not hot hatch) was pretty good. The Manual gearbox with SyncroRev was a joy to use.

Hardly saw many others about, which for me was a good thing. It always got nice comments.

Still miss it. Only sold it for an Audi R8.

its always seemed a bit half and half the 370z...half muscle car and half jap coupe...but not brilliant at either.

too heavy and cumbersome for a jap coupe and not big and noisey enough for a muscle car.

but you know, i still like the fact you can get one...life would be boring without cars like these.

always had a soft spot for jap NISMO stuff....just pray they price sensibly enough
