Sorry, but that number plate is going to make pretty much no difference once you are on the move. The area behind the plate will be getting buffeted with so much air, a number plate partially occluding the intercooler is going to have little effect.A Gran Turismo legend for sure! Although, of course i'd have to point out that the NSX was the best car in the game. Nevertheless, i used to search for my favourite low mileage JDM cars in their various guises; happy days!

Here are the two pics from the advert that made me buy mine. Fell in love. Bought it totally unseen on the phone there and then and didn't even test drive it... after all, I had driven loads on my Playstation

Don't miss it at all. 552bhp... little gay unreliable mini horses!
I kinda enjoyed it at the beginning and went ok on track for a big old beast... wouldn't ever own another though.

Looks a lovely example...I am not surprised why you wouldn't have another looking at your current garage some real beauties in there! last pic before I sold it.

Disagree. You can get a 996 Turbo for similar money and they are MUCH faster as standard. and before you start talking about tuning... check out tuned Porsche Turbos.

Its not that. I just think they are massively overated cars that can be a real pain in the ass to own if you actually want to use them HARD.Blukoo said:

They've joined the Impreza 22B at a "modern classic" value that they're unlikely to fall much further from.
Sadly the rarity of unmolested R33 cars, and their horrid interiors, mean that only an R34 will do in my opinion.

Is this a reflection of the car's size and weight, or a more generic Japanese problem?Friends of mine have had all manner of Evos, Subarus, and a couple Skylines, boasting (and boosting!) lots of big numbers on the dynos, however they quite ofter don't feel as quick as they should on the road. Maybe they're too competent.
"Back in the day" a Sierra or Escort Cosworth with a genuine 350 to 400bhp was a monster, however we always joked (mocked) with the drivers of similarly powered Evos and Subarus that their Japanese horses must be very small compared to the British Cosworth horses.

Everything will go bang on such a substantially modified car if used hard. I'm not sure how the equivalent Porsche would fare, but I'd expect the problems arose due to the 552 ponies.mat205125 said:

Only a problem with people bragging about numbers which aren't real (every idiot knows someone with a 1000 bhp Skyline). They can be pretty wayward (not surprising if you look at how the 4WD works) - probably why so many end up crashed.

I ran an 552bhp dyno proven R34 and a 500bhp 996turbo at the same time. Drove them both hard on road and track... In my experience Porsche was MUCH faster, much more fun and much more reliable.
My Skyline had amazing history and was a very well looked after, well modified and well known car.... it was FAR from being a 'pup'
