I had that recently too. I laughed at him and asked him if he was joking. He replied "Well they're expensive bulbs". You're telling me! I bought a pair off Ebay so now I have a spare if I am ever in urgent need of one.

Blimey.

I thought they were joking when they quoted me £50 (and a week-long wait for stock) for some fitted floor mats. "Well they are fitted" I was told.

Went to VW stealers just up the road and paid £25 for a full set.

Don't see them being Halfords' biggest seller somehow. Unless they are preying on people who think Halfords must be cheaper than manufacturers without even checking.

When they first came out even then I struggled to sell them for £45.

Halfords are expensive for some things.

I have a trade card which makes a difference on some stuff...a full set of wipers for the other halves focus retailed at £44 but I got them for £18. Still not mega cheap I know but a lot better than £44!

Demonstrated how far they pull their customers pants down. They sell Bosch wipers at TWICE suggested resale price!

Euro Car Parts is a much better place for parts.

Meguiars DA Polisher - yours for £249.99 at Halfords. Or £135 on Amazon.

Is it any wonder the high street is dying?

I wanted some allen keys.

Halfords: £16
B&Q: £4

The tools and other car products are also much cheaper from b&q.

Halfords is really overpriced and the shops are full of junk.

Wow that's insane. They just don't make any sense with the pricing.

If you really look around you can pick one of them up without the Meguiars logo for £90.

Is that the exact same allen keys? If not, then there's a huge difference in price and quality between poor quality tools and good quality ones. The Halfords professional ones (or whatever they call them now) are pretty good quality in my experience and not too expensive.

That's not to say other things aren't expensive though... Even "normal" bulbs are pretty expensive there compared to other places - but I guess you're paying for the convenience of being able to get something instantly.
