It's surprising the amount of older European stuff there is - not the obvious car like the Ferrari 250, but the more common cars like the Alfa 75, E36, Sierra Cosworth, Capri etc.
A lot of the cars look like they have temporary trade style plates on (eg the white F40 up at the top) - what are they for?
Those are Chinese number plates, need them to drive across the border. You see a fair number of cars with both. A lot of the cars look like they have temporary trade style plates on (eg the white F40 up at the top) - what are they for?
Opposite my house there is a garage that specialises in Lotus stuff, mostly kitted out for racing. No tracks in HK so all of them would have china plates or get trailered.

Very nice photos thanks for sharing!
You can earn big bucks in HK with the right qualifications and experience. I know of a private tutor in HK who easily earns over £100k. Even a lot of middle grade office workers in Central takes home around GBP3000/month.

Wow - excellent post! The countach looks like a scale model when you see the Jag next to it!
Wow, what a response! Thanks for the feedback guys. Let me try and answer a couple of questions.
The white and red plates are indeed trade plates. They need to be used when driving a car to or from point of sale or when a dealer is moving a car. A lot of drivers of supercars drove on these plates without paying first registration fee on their imported cars, but the police have since clamped down on it and it doesn't happen often anymore. Chinese cross-border plates are white on black. You often see cars with both HK plates and China plates, but the fee is pretty huge about GBP20k I believe someone correct me if I'm wrong.
It wouldn't be feasible to export HK cars aborad for sale as (as someone mentioned) the tax on new cars here's can be up to 100% of the value of the car as Montaver said. So those Paganis and Gumperts etc. basically cost double the price of Europe.
TobyLaRohne, Hong Kong does have some good roads, but you have to get up early before there are too many road users and local plod.
There are plenty of classic Minis here, but I haven't posted any. I'll rectify that. In fact if you have any requests let me know and I'll post them. I have over 7,000 photos, so there should be something in there for everyone.
Montaver, I have been to Automall a few times. It's pretty amazing. Better yet, if you haven't already go up one floor to the private car park, you'll be amazed!
dry664, when you see endless Ferraris and Lamborghinis every day you'll end up being more interested in the more quirky stuff!
Right, I have plenty more pics for you. Let's kick things off again...
Again, it's a mixed bag photo-quality wise as some of these shots are old. You'll know the more recent ones when you see them!

Just got in from HK, hideous weather today. Lots of nice stuff posted, I know quite a few of the fancy ones as they belong to friends of mine. There are a great number of cars tucked away that rarely, if ever, come out too.
Had a quick browse today, prices are "friendly" compared to Shanghai. Ferrari had a California with delivery miles listed for ¥500k last week. Gave my friend at the HQ a call to take it off their hands. Typo, naturally. Got lunch and F1 tickets instead. Decent result
Plotting on cars now, but something as small as a BMW Z4 costs £100k and there aren't many fun car options here for reasonable money. Can import LHD cars less than 20 years old through one of our companies however, this give us a lot more options.
