Roller garage doors
Discussion
Sorry to bump an old topic
Wondering how the OP got on...
I'm thinking of this too, my big factors to overcome are :
Security ... My pride and joy is in there!!
I'm after 2inches width ideally from std door and frame ... Next motor I'm considering is 2 inches wider
It's seperate building.. So power needs to get to it, there is an old coal outhouse with power next to it to draw from, but manual over ride needed in case power issues..
Thanks

sorry, but speaking from experience auto-roll insulated roller doors are cheap ste. They may look similar to other manufacturers doors at a cheaper price, but trust me - they are not. Your warranty and guarantee is likely worth about as much as the sheet of paper it will be written on.
I have an independent report being done on one of their doors this month which should be interesting.

I'm re-bumping this thread for any info on automatic roller garage doors; I currently have an automatic four section up and over Hormann door but it intrudes into the available roof space above the car. As it is an integral garage there is a good 18" of space above the garage door where, if I had a roller type door instead, I could get a mini lift and get the car up in the air for ease of maintenance.
Any good or bad experiences? Any experience of Crocodile roller doors that are currently heavily advertised on TV?

The two Securoglide roller shutter garage doors that I got from SWS 5 years ago have been faultless, as have the two my neighbour bought around the same time

Apart from needing a new bottom slat sensor/transmitter in warranty and a pair of batteries for that and another, my two singles have been good too. Seceuroglide Compact in my case.http://www.sws.co.uk/products/seceuroglide/roller-...

I want to replace my up and over garage door with a roller type door. Does anyone have any info on types, manufactures I should avoid or are particularly good etc?
Also anyone know what the average sort of price for a single door including install is likely to be?
Found nationwide online they appear to be quite good?
