Hmm, not wearing its miles well IMO. I know it's detail but what is going on with the different wood trims inside. Unusual colour would make it a challenge to sell. Perhaps, with a good clean up it could be ok but i am sure there are better places to put your money.
The wood trim looks normal to me - I suspect it's the light / camera.

What does seem odd however is how badly worn the drivers' seat is.

My 523 has 199k on the clock and the seat doesn't look anything like that...
He does say the LCM has been changed... which would have put that dot up on the dash display which means you can't trust the displayed mileage (the car stores a backup copy of the odo in the LCM, if that doesn't agree with the dash's number, it puts the dot up).

So, make of that what you will...

I've just re-entered the wonderful world of shedding.

£799-worth of Sweden's finest, a 2004 Saab 9-3.

It's a 2.0T Vector with leather, climate (which is borked so he's fixing it before I collect it) and other stuff. Mmmmm, comfy.

I'll stick some better pics up later when I've actually got it.

Beats the moon miles MINI I was smoking around in!

Mot history shows a pretty legitimate milage, plenty of past rust though...

Love a tidy Swedish meatballer

That doesn't look like a 13 year old car either.

I missed out on a Dark Blue one a few months back which was £1250, the seller told me he sold it the day before for £950.

Comfy seats and decent spec it really is peanuts motoring.

£799 is no money really for such a comfy and quiet car, but this one has a couple issues, as you'd expect with any 13 year old car:-

- The climate control makes a very loud whistling sound at start-up, which goes away after a few minutes
- The passenger seatbelt light is always on if that seatbelt is unclipped, meaning it always needs to be clipped in

But still. It's not a bad place to while away the miles. It feels much lighter than it actually is as the steering and pedals are far lighter than the MINI's.

I think that's a common fault on these and fairly easy to rectify - something to do with wiring in the seat from the passenger weight sensor splitting over time.

I'm sure I've heard about it before. Personally I'd just keep it plugged in and ignore it. In most cars I do that to make sure the seatbelt doesn't bang against the B pillar anyway

"Fairly easy" does mean taking the seat out and taking it apart, mind...

I'll just leave it be. It's not doing any harm being plugged in.

I really like driving it, it feels nice and solid.

Might be an MOT failure? When's the next MOT?

He'll be OK if he leaves the seat belt plugged in, won't he?

Just leave all the seat belts done up as if you normally would

Anyone feeling brave?

And a little something for those that want to go to the tip in comfort...and maybe bash into a few things on the way.

Don't they unplug them and plug them in again? I guess it's a case of hope they don't notice the light come on!

Maybe this is one of those times when a familiar and friendly MOT tester should turn a blind eye?

Also, I don't think it'll fail on that light anyway. I think it has to be a light indicating a fault with the airbag system, not one notifying you that the belt is unplugged. It is correct that the belt is unplugged anyway

A seatbelt warning is not an MOT fail, it is not even testable guys...It is a separate system to an SRS lamp

Yeah looks terrible - especially when thbe rest of the car looks so clean. I would be tempted to take a put at thbat price - but don't have the space. Do love my Saab 9-3 Aero though..

MOT expires in February but I don't think it's an MOT failure anyway. Not getting an airbag light coming on.

I rather like this 9-3 but I'm already itching for more power... maybe I should get it remapped, a fella in Sunderland apparently gets it up to 220bhp and improves the economy in the process. Will the chassis be able to handle that sort of power, though?

It's such a doddle to drive, like - much more pleasant even around town than the MINI I chopped in for it. The light steering and clutch mean parallel parking and weaving through traffic is easy peasy.
