RE: Audi D4 A8 facelift
Discussion
These cars should come with a warning. No self-respecting private individual with a brain should buy one of these cars until they are at least 5 years old.
On no account should owners drop people off at airports in this car, UNLESS they intend to collect a fare paying tired and stressed middle management banker or lawyer who expects you to drive him to Weybridge.
Seriously, turn up at an airport in one of these and people will try to climb in the back of your car.

Another luxury steering wheel that I don't like...
Why do they look like they are made out of bakelite nowadays?
Looks pretty much identical to the one in my A5 and, in the leather (so to speak), it's really quite pleasant to use. The controls also fall very nicely to thumb access...Why do they look like they are made out of bakelite nowadays?
Your right though, I've never like the audi wheel's since they went to this design.
Always liked the A8, but the advent of newe improved competitors it looks to be falling behind.
Unfortunately, to me it looks like Audi have just got lazy and xerox'd the A4, increasing it in photocopy size increasingly to become the A6 /A8.
Likewise the interiors, whilst efficient, are just bland copies of each other.
To me the last true great, and individual Audi's were the Ur Quattro, and the A2 (even that was derivative inside).
Come on Audi, up your game!

Despite the fact that Audi's sales are rising and rising here in the UK, they have never had much success with the A8. Thats mainly because it doesn't bring anything new to the party, you would have to be a real Audi fan to choose this over an S Class.
Interestingly the sales of the BMW 7 Series have suffered since they moved to tone down the controversial styling, now they can't shift them.
Agree that Audi need to up their game on the design front of some of their cars. The A3, A4, A6, A8 look too nondescript nowadays and it will start to eat into sales once other Manufacturers start to compete by offering more interesting designs.

I honestly don't understand why people buy these (or the 7-series or S-Class for that matter) given the horrific depreciation. They must have truly disposable income and be ok with it. However I am glad that they do.

They dont .I know someone with a 12 plate audi a8 they lease them rent them and pay £400-£500 a month for a 7 series/a8/s-class/xj
and the rest are bought/leased by chauffeur companies/business
