What's the most powerful car you have owned?
Discussion
After being a long time reader I thought I better post something
My current and most powerful is my Seicento Sporting with an insane 54bhp!! (The little 1.1 has a nice italian fizz to it)
Most powerful car driven is a Ferrari 360 on a track ~400bhp, yet my Seicento brings many more smiles
I'm aiming for an MX5 or 944 once I'm 21 though

The most BHP I've owned is 282BHP but that was in 3 cars, all BMWs: E24 M635csi, E31 840ci, E32 740i.
However, the 6 felt like it had 282BHP. the others were a bit more lazy.
BMW seemed to love that BHP figure over the years, with the likes of the E36 M3 and E9x 335d tooHowever, the 6 felt like it had 282BHP. the others were a bit more lazy.
355BHP is my max (M3 CSL)

It's actually 286 (maybe PS?) for all of the above cars and is due to a German Tax bracket. In other words the engines are pegged to that to avoid falling into a higher bracket.
Never knew that. Was that the case even back in the early 80s for the E24/E28?Have any other German manufacturers hit the 282BHP/286PS mark? Only one I can think of which was close was the AMG C36
Most powerful was the 3200GT Maserati at circa 370bhp, currently my Chevy pickup has roughly 280-300bhp and my Cooper S is probably somewhere round the 180bhp with a pulley upgrade (15%) and air filter. Looking at a V10 S6 next though.
Driven an Audi R8 V10 Plus with 510PS , was rather brisk.

193 was another one, hence at one time, Mercedes, Audi and BMWs 2.8 litre sixes all produced exactly the same 193PS, as did Merc's 2.3 Kompressor, yet with different peak torque/rpm figures which doesn't necessarily add up. Given the additional capacity and feel of the 2.8 in the 328i over the preceding 192PS 325i, it's certainly more than 1hp. Most tend to be 205-210 when dyno'd.Have any other German manufacturers hit the 282BHP/286PS mark? Only one I can think of which was close was the AMG C36
W210 E430 was there at 286 too IIRC.
