Hi all

I've seen a lot of people on here fitting the N400 sills to early V8 Vantages and wondered if anyone has fitted a set of V12/Vantage S skirts? Also has anyone updated the look of their car to Vantage S/ V12 spec with newer style front and rear bumpers?

Any pictures and ideas of costs to add the relevant parts would be much appreciated

Thanks

Trev

Curleyapplehead did it to his 4.3
Not sure how straight forward it is as the front tray will be different

The local garage owner to me who services & maintains my car has a V8VR similar to mine.
He has just put his Aston off the road as he is starting the first phase of converting it to look like a V12VR.
I have a copy of the shopping list for the V12VR body parts inc wheels for my info
£22,591.45 inc VAT (excluding tyres of the V12 alloys)
I am assuming the front splitter and rear diffuser quoted on the parts list are Cabon Fibre
I think these are also available in plastic since the Carbon Fibre was probably an option on the Vantage S but standard on the V12VR

Not too surprised at the cost of that list!

Carbon bumper bits are standard on S and V12
Plastic on MY12.25 V8V onwards

mikeyK. I stand corrected to your superior Vantage S knowledge.

V12VR Prices for example
Rear wheel - £1288.65 + VAT
Front Wheel - £1264.45 + VAT
V12 sills £332.12 + VAT each

I think I could live with the plastic as carbon sounds very expensive. Any ideas what the cost of the plastic versions are?

I see this company does a version for £4411 - http://www.davidapplebyengineering.com/bodywork.ht...

I looked into this and this is what I found out:

2011 facelift upgrade with the 2011 spec front and rear bumpers (black plastic splitter) and V12V sills = £7k all painted and fitted.
Vantage S / V12V spec with the carbon parts in the bumper rather than just black plastic = £9k all painted and fitted.

The N420 bodykit with less aggressive side sills, carbon front splitter and rear diffuser is about £4k all painted and fitted.

Of note is that the V12V side sills are about £100 cheaper than the N400/420 side sills, but you need new wheel arch liners (+£500), which then makes it £400 more expensive.

You pay your money and make your choice.

That is curleyappleheads family business
I'm guessing those are either plastic OEM or copy parts?

That is about right £5.2k including VAT without the sills, so aboout £6k with the sills and about £1k for paint and fitting = £7k as in my earlier post. Those prices included VAT.

That is for the 2011 bumpers with the black plastic splitters and inserts the Vantage S / V12V ones are £2.5k more expensive.

Out of interest, how does Appleby compare to Bamford Rose, say for the drivetrain upgrades? I've never seen them mentioned here, but it seems they know what they're doing.

They have a different background Appleby's are a race team at the core, Bamfords are ex factory development engineers
Their offerings do seem to reflect their experience and expertise.

Same bumpers with carbon splitter & inserts and V12 sills is what you get with the V8 Vantage S:

Is it just me or is there something wrong with changing bits on your V8V to make it a V8VS .........doesn't the car then become something that it isn't ? I suppose it's only one stage up from shoving new alloys on your car

Ordinarily I'd say yes
But the MY12.25 "facelift" is exactly that 95% of the bits from the S with cheaper plastic bumper inserts frown
As you say its one of the "stages" of updating an older car!

As if by chance I've just noticed a 2006 car that's come up for sale in the classifieds with a 2012 Vantage S bumper and wheels and N420 sills and diffuser.

What a transformation. That is a very early V8V and it looks bang up to date. Interesting to see how much the seller will recoup when he finally sells, as he's clearly invested quite a sum in that car. Looks to be about 6k over the normal asking price, which seems fair enough. Looks great.

I dont think so - when you see aftermarket exhausts they are all to fit the model years with a split 2011/12

One contributor made his 4.3 Coupe look like a V12 Vantage, including the correct bonnet and tailgate.

I would normally have thought why bother, but the photos did show a great looking car.
