Where have all the enthusiasts gone?

My hobby is classic cars, for the last twenty years + I do not drink or smoke, the cash goes on old cars. We go to over ten shows a year about classic cars. I have done a few restorations as well.
I can see a lovely 911 and an Aston in your pic. Any others?I think I should build myself a Westfield or similar at some stage. I have a big Halfords Professional tool kit so what could possibly go wrong?
I drive probably 100+ miles a week just for the hell of it.
I love driving, no matter what car I'm in. I also get excited when I see nice cars and a nice sounding car will always make me turn the stereo down and open a window.
Would love a go in an M135, I imagine they're a very very fast car in the real world?
I followed one the other day and was hoping the guy would give it some beans but I don't think he saw my Seicento as a threat?!

Vlad wanted to ask... I nearly bought a 135i recently but in the end plumped for a 335i because I could drive it more "sedately" when the missus was in with me. How have you found it in terms of day to day driving?
My missus is quite a petrol head too which helps but it needed to be comfortable. It's busier than our 335d but perfectly acceptable and it's fairly refined inside too. The 3 series has a few nicer touches though; just little things like the sun blinds, window switches, etc. Vladimir said:

The chap kept the Aston, photo was from a car show that he did.
As for others VW's
Still a lot of enthusiasts here imo.
However, what I do find a shame is that a lot of interesting threads don't get the exposure they deserve being overlooked with members favouring proving they are RIGHT and others WRONG in pointless and petty arguments.
I think the V8Nnam thread only made it to 15 pages whereas a rather pointless Audi argument at the same time ended up over 20 (if not 30?) pages+. It's a real shame. For the members who actually do interesting things with their cars (rather than talk about it) and make the effort to do write ups and such to share, these should be acknowledged.

I don't appreciate people making a post like this when they are completely guilty of being one of the worst perpetrators
Booom, there is the point, No MX5, No TVR and buys the BMW fast/value option du jour and then slags off the rest of the faithful, come on mate, I know you are a petrolhead but you are on shaky ground slagging the rest.I'm enthusiastic about some cars, and some driving. I'm not enthusiastic about all cars, in the same way that most people even on PH aren't enthusiastic about driving in traffic jams.
Tonight I reassembled the cylinder head for our sub-£1k MG. I smiled today when I spotted a dark green XK120 out for a run. I can't think of anything currently on sale in the new car market that urges me to spend my money.
I'm an enthusiast, just not a very good one.

OP - Is it your mission in life to include 'M135i' in as many of your posts as possible?
And surfing, but oddly no mention of Vw Californias?I think Vladimir has a point, but it is how it is and there are plenty more beardy corners of tinternet to retreat to if we dont like it.
The sub-section I frequent here is the best group of people I've encountered online, and I don't remember a single thread about finance deals, best car for a new driver, or really any 'whining' threads, it's all about sharing knowledge, enthusiasm, a bit of gentle ribbing and how to make more power.
In fact, forget I said anything, we're fine as we are!
GG is just for some occasional 'wading in' for me, it's fun to read a handbag fight or two, and there's sometimes some funny little memes that crop up.

I'm fairly new here, but I've been reading long enough to feel qualified to comment. On the whole, I agree. It seems the default response to anything is negativity. I can pretty much predict the responses to every new car announcement. Generally, can't afford it means it's boring and too expensive. Should be 600kg and cost forty quid.
Yawn.
Yawn.
