Think not. Look how the rear wheels fill the arches, and then have a look at this
Look even more closely, at the scoop/vent in the door, the rear pillar and the way the window terminates with another vent along with the bootlid/engine cover (yellow car looks very 308-esque in that area), and the area below the drivers door. If it's going to be used for stunt work, then it's very unlikely that it'll be a real GTO. Much cheaper for the production company to 'build' a GTO from a ropey old 308/328 if it'll get damaged/destroyed during filming.

Compare the film set car with the genuine 288 GTO here...

There are no panel gaps/seams on the rear buttress/pillar of the GTO, the angle of the rear window is more sloped on the real GTO, and being picky, the exhaust exits look bigger, and stick out further on the yellow car, although custom pipes can explain that difference quite easily. On the whole there are too many areas where there are subtle but significant differences for me to believe it's a 'proper' 288 GTO. There's an even better (copyrighted) comparison image here... http://www.seriouswheels.com/def/Ferrari-288-GTO-r... ...with a similar photo angle to the yellow car.

Spotted in brighton yesterday. First XJ220 I've ever seen on the road. It sounded *angry*. It must have been hard work and hot inside - the traffic along the seafront was horrific!

That XJ220 is stunning. That number plate isn't.

That trundled past us in Shoreham-By-Sea yesterday afternoon as well. Glad you got a snap, as I was unable to.

Agree on the 'angry' sounding nature of it.

It would look fine on the back, no supercar should have a front number plate

Think there is a chap on here who lives in Sussex, who has the 220 as well as an XJR-15

Is that a Concept Climax? It looks familiar but I cannot find any of my pictures of one from Goodwood a few years ago to compare.

What are these Hong Kong numberplates? Are they dealerplates? Temporary plates? They are enormous(ly ugly) and attaching them with tape to the car looks very DIY, and not in a good way. I've seen several supercars, including the green carbon Koenigsegg and the new Zonda Fantasma with these hideous eyesores attached to them. Surely there must be a decent way to attach numberplates to your car in Hong Kong?

They are basically show plates.
You aren't allowed to register certain cars in HK, hence the need for a way round that problem with some temporary ones.
They do look pretty half-hearted, but better than no Huayra or Zonda I guess?

Haven't seen one of these before: RS Q3, plus a new RS6.

Yes it is the ONLY Climax, I spoke to the builder who is one of two brothers who designed, clay modelled, built the chassis, had real craftsmen hand build the body, pro drive built the flat 4 pot engine, Dymag Mag one off carbon/magnesium wheels. What an amazing piece of kit. It's for sale too for a measly £100,000 !!!

A SCD member owns a 720 mirage, without the stripe. I've been in the car a number of times and driven it once. They only ever converted 3 cars even though there is a plaque in each car saying the number out of ten, it's because that is all the cars they could find to have the conversion.

The engine is bench tested to 745bhp so power does vary a bit from what was quoted... Sounds amazing and looks a million dollars, and far more exclusive than say a 458... More info here from the owner: http://www.supercardriver.com/features/members-car...

We recently went to vmax in it and hit 200mph on a slightly damp day: http://youtu.be/muycC_cCBC4 LOVE that car!!
Hello! Thank you for that - I always appreciate knowing more than the bland, repeated, press releases that just pass around the blogs and News sections of the weeklys/monthlys.

So....what was 200 like? Stable? And on a damp day - that's like really rolling the dice... smile

Spill the beans!

Michael243 keep up the good work.

Whilst I agree with some, the army green 458 is vile. Weirdly that black C63BS looks great with those wheels.

Great spot of the GT3 4.0 - one of my favourite cars.

I saw a grey 458 spider, lid down, yellow calipers near chessington yesterday. Not all 458s do it for me. That one did.

Keep this sun going....can't wait to see the cars all coming out!

Forget the P1. The rear has some pizzaz but the styling is cluttered by all those ghastly offset boomerang shapes. The 918 piques my interest but its a 'Constable', a slightly bucolic supercar design. LaWhatever is just another interbred horse. If you could mash an SLR with an SLS, I'd warm up. Marek Reichmann's leash wasn't that long when asked to draw the One-77. The Veyron sounds like Sizewell B.

Nope. Even though I'd have wonder pangs at the thought of missing out on the 7.3 engine, the Huayra, for me, is the prize. The Quatermass cockpit and all the stylisms......booya!

A balmy Sunday in Tuscany, some cheeky showgirl like Aida Yespica in the passenger seat....winning.

Yes, they are temporary dealer plates. They're on the cars because they haven't had their first registration fee paid (100% of price of car), or on cars that haven't been yet approved for registration on HK roads i.e. LHD cars, or cars that don't meet they increasingly strict tranny department regs. They can only be used by dealers moving the car between garages or to point-of-sale (IIRC on that last one) I believe. They are not supposed to be used in situations which do not fall into these categories. They're a bit of a sensitive subject because people feel that if you want to use one of these uber-expensive cars on the road you should be prepared to pay the taxes. So, people in the trade especially get pissed off when they see stuff like this apparently being driven for fun. Me? I understand their concern, but I don't have any opinion on it. Life's to short, I just want to see stuff like this on the road. If it was up to me, the transports dept would set up a board run by car experts with an annual quota for the registration of interesting/significant cars LHD/RHD whatever. Just whack a fee on each successful application and boom there's some extra cash for the government coffers. They worry about a massive influx of LHD cars from China I think, but with my idea that wouldn't happen. If that was a reality I can't begin to tell you how many more amazing cars we'd have on our roads.
