It was until recently.

I didn't think the Bamford family to be the sort to have a P1?!

Was pretty nice in Paisley today.
Yes. Not just because I had one, but because even the standard W215 is a relatively uncommon car. So in AMG-format just makes it...'Penny Black'. Not Chinese Blue Military stamp rareness, but rare enough.

CL 55 AMG ***CL 65 AMG
2001 303
2002 607
A 2002 example has recently appeared outside a house down the road from me.
Extraordinary value these days considering you'd have to go to a CGT to definitively surpass the W215s basic mission statement. Then again, read any M-B forum and ABC issues make most owners look like Gandalf when presented the bill.

One thing I never did with mine was take a long cruise down to the Italian lakes, have my own form of continental drift. The cabin is a really serene place to be, with double-glazing and all that, and when you want to press on, it can get all Vandals & Visigoths. AMG engines are at their best when they are 'raging'.

The picture above does have me pining: but would have to scratch the V12 itch if I did revisit.

Whilst on my way to pick up the car from yet another extended stay courtesy of Daimler - word to the wise, AMG ownership is a vocation: you do it for the love of it, not with one eye on your wallet - I saw this lovely D3 biturbo. Its great to see a company like Alpina with a very well honed niche, continue to survive, thrive and almost turn their products into the sensible, alternative, option. Their P&L over the past decade must have shown an interesting upward trajectory. I'm sure Seek will be along to set me straight...
Apologies... been traveling for the past few days - with a stopover in Tallinn of all places.
It has a quaint feelgood factor going for it which much reminds me of the postwar positiveness of Europe.
Regrettably no interesting car pictures...

I don't have the latest annual report at hand but I've quickly thrown together what was available.

Most interesting is the clear impact of the financial crisis.
Also, the gross margin is certainly not excessive...

Interesting: revenue looks a bit stochastic, but profit more 'dynamically suppressed' in-period.

Tells a story, that.

Well, the car is yellow so perhaps one of the family has a thing for something modern and mental.

I currently have 12, I think.

LF63 *** - yellow, first delivered
P1 *** - volcano orange, PB
P1 JOY - blue, abroad mainly
P1 *** - black, London-ish
MK63 *** - silver, Glasgow
OO14 *** - yellow, Birmingham
1 *** - grey, Manchester delivery this week
P1 *** - blue, Northeast Scotland, delivery last week
3 CRS - red, London car
MX14 *** - yellow, Manchester Delivery
P1 *** - blue, only going on a sighting, no pics
Unknown - volcano orange, London, not delivered

I have been lucky enough to see both Scottish cars biggrin (plate slightly altered for privacy)
