Well they can't be any more common than they were when new!
Yes they can!

First year production 5000(?), so 5000 on the roads
Second year production 5000 (?), so 10,000 on the roads (less a few write-offs)
Third year production 5000 (?), so 15,000 on the roads (less a few write-offs)
etc etc

What Blown2CV is saying is that just because they're now £25k does not make them more common, unless they've found a way to breed

Or they're common in the "Bingo playing, beer drinking, What the Tory party think is common" sense of the word?

"The stars are ageless, aren't they?" Sunset Boulevard, 1950

On a desk I keep a few books that I like to dip into every now and then. And for some reason or another, when a friend is hanging around, more than any other, one book gets picked up, the head tilts towards me, and the requisite purse of the lips is followed by, '...may I borrow it?'

'Confessions of an Advertising Man' by David Ogilvy. I think it could be because its a slim volume and vividly red in colour. Maybe.

Ogilvy was a bit of an iconoclast at times, but he indelibly stamped a mark: he famously propelled many brands and campaigns, but one that surely stood the test of time was for Rolls-Royce.

The King of Madison Avenue was famous for his 'memos'. Depending on the situation/concern they could be beautifully oblique.

Letter to Randolph Churchill, in England

July 25, 1961
Thank you for your telegram. The cook delivered it to me on a salver in the middle of a game of croquet.

Now I don't know if Ogilvy was, like, Peter Sellers, Terence Rattigan et al, an R-R man, but if he wrote memos like that, you could sort of imagine it. A pile in Hampshire, butler called Nestor, and the Mulliner Park Ward, parked up on the gravel, ready for when you wanted to drive. Not be driven.

With something like 70 made in total, deduct the coupes from the number, and the convertible becomes an exceedingly rare sighting.

Oh, by the way, the quote from Sunset Boulevard? Spoken by Gloria Swanson. Someone who liked to be chauffeured away from a tedious days filming at Paramount, cloaked in the finest Cartier and furs, in her Silver Cloud III.

Huge fan of the SLR, and I happily await the day, when some poor soul has kindly worn the full depreciation for me. Supercharged V8s are appallingly addicting, and one day, like Connor Macleod I will have, 'My Prize!"

Viper RT/10. Cool car.

Badge checking is an enormous consumer of time. But when you do the mental reconciliation - "550??...550!", it brings a smile to the face. God knows how few of these there are.

Ok, mea culpa. I should have really should have paused, waited, and taken a better picture. Taken in the fine, elegant, but fertile lines. But the blonde was a stunner.

Carbon mirrors and coded splitter? Hard to tell with the light. Wonderful thing either way, I have a certain weakness for the rarefied Japanese pork regardless though, great spot.

Long term lurker, decided to post some iPhone snaps from a recent trip to London.

Nice Esprit on the Embankment. Looked tiny!

Porsche taxi rank

Hard looking Landie round the back of Harrods

Modded CLS - still think the gen 2 is a step backwards for looks

Liked the back to back black and white composition...

Made my eyes hurt

Subtle MTM'd RS6

New S Class, excuse the bad photo. Was all meh about these until I saw one in the metal - great looking but very sensitive to colour/wheels IMO
