RE: Maserati Ghibli Cup: PH Heroes
Discussion
I bought my Ghibli Cup new in 1997 from Nigel at Meridian who were then the sole importers this was the same time as Harry Metcalf (who was then with Performance car I think or Fast lane) bought his. His had a black interior mine has a cream one. We both sent them to Bill Macgraths for the steering columns to be altered to improve the driving position which it did and I copied Harry and bought some Recaro seats as the originals did not give much support, I had mine covered in cream leather. At the time it was the highest output of any production car at 160BHP per litre. I had had 3 E36 M3's before this 2 coupes and a cab but this was far more involving and fun to drive. There was lag but it really wasn't that bad and it could really pick up its feet. Plus it looked so different to other Bm's Merc's etc.
The interior was brill all leather and carbon plus that clock it was as good as any car I have had. I did have some rust issues from day one that were sorted by Meridian but I sold it 2 years later as all the work had to be done by them down on the South Coast but they usually sent a guy up by train to pick it up and drop it off. I paid £44k for the car and Meridian bought it back for £34k, I had no issues with the car bar the couple of rust bubbles on the front spoiler at the bottom of the windscreen. I can only find 2 old pics of it.

Slightly-more 'pumping' of the wheelarches, a roof design hinting at a targa top (but wasn't!) plus a 3.2 litre V8 engine - still with the twin turbos though - pushing out 325 BHP, I seem to remember.
I also believe the later Ghiblis (the 2.8 litre as well as the 2.0 litre Cup) also picked up the rear axle from the Ferrari 456 when, as the article says, they received the six-speed Getrag gearbox
Heres one for sale... http://www.richardgracecars.co.uk/listing/maserati...I also believe the later Ghiblis (the 2.8 litre as well as the 2.0 litre Cup) also picked up the rear axle from the Ferrari 456 when, as the article says, they received the six-speed Getrag gearbox

I think these will be inline to appreciate significantly, although some military grade man maths required to justify one on speculative value!

Any chance of the rest of the scans? http://www.maseraticlub.co.uk/trident34.htm
^ This site has some sections of reviews from Andrew Frankel and EVO as well.
If it looked like a shamal (ok they are pretty similar but the Shamal looks just, 'right-er'), It would perfect.
