We grow (grew frown) spuds and deliver them to chip shops. Chip shops are normally in busy places and very often have double yellow lines outside. The guys were delivering spuds yesterday and parked on double yellows for less than the allowed 20 minutes and got a parking ticket. The time on the ticket said they were there for 7 minutes.

Instant licence removal and retest I hope!

Or at least it would be if were up to me!!! furious

It's only a) a fluke nobody was crushed/killed! b) a matter of time before the driver does it again! rage

I wish there was a compentency test for drivers over, say, 70? Involving age related hindrances, eg range of movement, reaction time, the ability to telll which pedal does what etc... scratchchin

I think it's quite impressive. He ollied onto the handrail and did a 50:50 down it.

A friend saw this guy and his daughter park up (too far forward) in the disabled spaces at Next Calcot.

Heading off towards the main entrance of Sainsbury's which is away round the corner so presumably not just too lazy to walk to the front door.

There are always spaces at the very back of that car park if you're really that bothered about hurting your P&J. I make the point of parking my snotter at the back, well out of the way from the biddy hatches, mummy wagons and builder vans that seem to populate the front of the car park...

VERY few disabled people would park without the badge....because they HATE the s who do (and are not disabled) and would never put themselves in the same group.......

Makes sense to me - the gravel can be raked over to get rid of any oil stains left by leaky cars.

Google Earth View offered me this today - I see stty parking is not unique to cars

Really. How difficult is it to park in one space in an empty car park. :-)

My Grandad tells a story of the 50s - he owned a bike/sidecar and always parked first (in well before 5am) on wasteland next to his place of work (Bradford Post Office)

He came back one day to see cars parked all-over with his bike/sidecar blocking some from being able to leave - there's a note attached to the bars asking him to park with more consideration next-time ;0

Would have made a great sped-up film that day!

Because he'd have parked in the disabled bays nearer the shop he's actually walking towards and not the one around the corner?

Not suitable in this instance, but this seems like a fine idea for underground parking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUfcNNv3g68
