My children danced with Chubby Checker on the stage there about 18 years ago.
Apart from that the place was as classy as that Rover.

I'm going down to Minehead in September for the '90's weekend, I can't bloody wait! biggrin

The word 'tragic' springs to mind, unbelievable it really is.

This may not be to your taste, but it isn't badly modified, it's actually very professionally modified by its owner and executed to a high standard! It's also on static suspicion, not air!

Opinions are personal, I love this little car!

I think it should be here, due to the "choice" to do that to the suspension (even) destroys the cars original poor handling...so a technical "bad" choice gets it i for me:
I saw a similarly modded early beetle on the motorway a couple of years ago, he was in the inside lane doing <50mph as he was struggling to keep it in the lane, was wandering all over the shop, tbh it looked fking scary.
Why?
I just dont understand the logic of making a car undriveable to make it look "better"

If I owned that mondeo I would black out the windows too.....in case someone saw me in it.

I suspect his front wheel drive set up needs all the rear downforce it can't get...maybe an F1 team did the wind tunnel work?

Pretty sure I know the original owner of this that did most of the mods including the afterburners and morrettes and the whale tail ... the current owner bought it almost as-is

Why so many spoilers?
The whale tail could nearly work on it's own. However it seems impossible to find a picture of one with just a single spoiler. what are these people thinking.

Pass not totally sure.

On the yellow the base boot spoiler is stock I think, pass on the addition of the whale and roof top!

On the blue one ... god knows why it needed a pram handle as well lol!!

Aha, you have solved it, the spoilers are designed to make the airflow carry over the trailer properly, I knew it was designed in a wind tunnel.

That's exactly why it's badly modified you nugget!

You reduce the contact patch of the rear tires to a fraction of what could be considered safe.

If you want to lower it, fine. But when you do it such that it becomes a danger to other road users, I'm going to take issue with it.
Its got 30bhp you nugget, couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding FFS! They're not going to be losing the back end and the front will do the majority of the braking! On top of that, anyone who drives a Beetle modded as such knows what they've done and drives accordingly.

so it's ok to drive a p.o.s. death-trap if you've done the work and are aware of what's been done

Spotted at the Castle Combe Summer Action Festival.
Also it's not an RS5, it's actually a 2.7 TDI.

Those god-awful kits are made by this company:

https://xclusivecustomz.com/product/audi-a5-xclusi...

£3k+ for the bits! Funny thing is, I've seen about 4-5 cars online (mostly on classifieds pages) and every single one was a diesel. Beggars belief.

What with the number of Audi RS thefts these days I wonder what happens to your premium if you were to phone your insurance company and advise them that, amongst other things, you've added RS5 badges.

Rear fitment is ermm... illegal. Not to mention £2k for a ropey 5dr Mk3 is ridiculous

To be fair, 50mph is about flat out for an original Beetle anyway.
